    • Lady GaGa & Beyonce’ Don’t Believe In Call Waiting; “Telephone” Video Is Here!

Written by The IPS in Videos on Mar 12, 10

Wow, I had to watch this video to take it all in! It’s epic in imagination and execution, but not really in its elements and creativity. Go with me.

First of all, this video is VERY Tarantino-esque. I mean, HELLO, the “Pussy Wagon” from “Kill Bill” is up in the place to be! I was just expecting Solange to get a cameo wearing an eye-patch with Baby Daniel strapped to her back high-kicking Lady GaGa’s mayo bottle out of her hand. LOL. Or…Vivica Fox.

That being said, Lady GaGa is EPIC and has fully embraced the powers of the Illuminati. Ole girl is naked, kissing womens, WEARING GLASSES THAT ARE MADE OF SMOKING CIGARETTES, I mean, the list goes ON and ON. What DIDN’T she cram into this 9.5 minute video?

Beyonce‘ plays her character, but yet and still, home girl is about as exciting as the yellow paint on the Pussy Wagon. Where GaGa is just naturally a huge presence, Beyonce’s duet and performance comes off as 2nd rate to GaGa’s. Sure, she’s not the star, but in something of this epic of a proportion, you need to carry your weight. I don’t feel Beyonce’ does that.

Tyrese makes a cameo as one of the many people murdered, and GaGa goes from riding and wearing a church hat to making sandwiches to getting pleasured by a Virgin Mobile phone.

We walk away from this video knowing that A) GaGa does NOT have a penis (thanks for clearing that up!), B) Beyonce’ really is just not a good “actress”, C) The Pussy Wagon is awesome, D) All the “kids” will be searching for those glasses, E) GaGa is sponsored by the Illuminati, F) This song goes harder to me now that I’ve seen the video, G) Beyonce’ choreo seemed a tad 2nd behind, H) GaGa is one of the next icons of this generation I) Madonna needs to not put out new music anytime because her old career has been reincarnated through GaGa, J) promo placements/partnerships are the new record label deal and K) THIS VIDEO IS EPIC, GEIGH, OVER THE TOP, and just everything that GaGa wanted to give to her fans and that they expected.

She’s gonna sell another 2 million downloads, watch.

First Dru Hill, Now Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. Who’s Next, Blackstreet?

Written by The IPS in Videos on Feb 19, 10

I don’t even know what to say about this LOL. Some people would say that Bone Thugs-N-Harmony never left, but come on, yeah they did. They did do that album a couple of years ago and it had a single with Akon I remember but I don’t think anyone really was checking for them.

This new song “Rebirth” of theirs is interesting — I honestly can’t tell you which one is which anymore, and if these are all the original members, etc. I haven’t kept up with Bone in FOREVER. But this song isn’t too terrible and their signature style doesn’t sound too dated if you ask me. But would I listen to a new Bone album? Probably not. I’m not even a fan enough for all that. Nostalgia made me listen to this whole song/video.

The video is a whole lot nothing though and gets old quickly. All these 90’s groups hitting the scene again. If TLC revives Left Eye via green screen and uses some of James Cameron’s “Avatar” technology, I’m officially OUTTAHERE.

The Family That Jerks Together Stay Together: Omarion on 106 & Park

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Jan 13, 10

      Really Moms?!

ROFL I mean, talk about keeping it real.

Omarion hit up 106 & Park to talk about his Slauson Swap Meet Fashion Du’ Jour AKA his hoodie. I got hoodies for $5 from Walgreen’s, I can’t believe dude did a song about them…

Jay Rock comes out and doesn’t learn proper staging while Omarion’s mother shakes her shimmy on behalf of her baby.

Could you imagine Katherine Jackson on stage with Michael moonwalking?! What is this about, all this!? *cremated*

He also performed “Ice Box” too, which was a bit better. At least the audience was with him on that one, cause I swear on “Hoodie” folks just sat there like “What are we supposed to do with this?”

How Come No One Told Me About Sasha Allen In “Hair”!?

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Nov 6, 09

I’m mad at ya’ll — it’s our jobs to keep each other up on new musical dopeness out in this vast country of ours and yet, all ya’ll failed to tell me about this fantastic singer named Sasha Allen!?

I was watching The CBS Early Show this morning and it featured a performance from the cast of the Broadway revival of Hair, and Ms. Allen was singing the lead on “Aquarius” and I almost knocked over my Kashi cereal. I was into it. The revival of Hair has won a Tony Award, too!

Her voice is amazing and she was doing some things to me when she was hitting these notes. I’m a fan and I’m going to do my best to get to see Hair. Now that I think about it, Sasha Allen was also in the movie Camp, which I’ve seen.

This performance is not from The CBS Early Show this morning, but check it out. Is she single?!

Note: If you’re in NYC and looking for some great Broadway shows to hit up, go visit our man Chester Gregory as James “Thunder” Early in the revival of Dreamgirls! More info here!

Music Video: Trey Songz – “I Invented Sex”

Written by The IPS in Videos on Nov 4, 09

I’m gonna say this MAY be not safe for work.

I mean, it really is a bit much. LOL, like, we don’t leave anything to the imagination anymore? I know that I’m not the target market for this video, so that aside, it’s pretty explicit for a music video. I mean, Trey Songz’s fanbase is definitely young girls. They gonna show this on 106 & Park? I don’t think that’s okay.

I really would like them to take the initiative and make an alternate version of this video because there are too many young ones around who are gonna be trying to jam this and watch this video and I don’t like that idea.

Not saying Trey Songz is going to be the demise of puritanical America, but seriously LOL. Too much is too much.

All this video is missing is “o” face. For real! What do ya’ll think? I’m a bit of a prude, I will readily admit that LOL, so weigh in.

Sean Carter Sits With Oprah As The Whole World Watches

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Sep 25, 09

Jay-Z was on Oprah and they talked about a lot of stuff. Peep Part 1 and then Parts 2, 3 and 4 after the jump.

In Part 1, Oprah asks him what he’s wearing (cologne wise), how rap has affected the culture at large (in which Jay says that rap has done more than anything to affect racism in our time through the power of music as a universal language and how racism is not taught in music but is taught in the home), how powerful it is that Oprah was standing in Marcy Projects with him, and more. In Part 1 they also do a walkabout of his old home, Marcy Projects, and talk some of his history and why he turned to drug dealing initially. They toured his grandmother’s house where he lived until he was 5, with the crowds building. Also was brought up how his father’s leaving affected him emotionally and the eventual reconnection of the two spurred on by his mother. Lastly, how he never got high on his own supply!

The other parts after the jump!

T-Pain Gets His Billy Jean On + Sounds Alright Doing It!

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Aug 28, 09

Spotted this at Miss Info’s spot…

Wow, WOW. T-Pain actually sounds really decent. Runs and ‘errthang! His runs sound cleaner than Whitney’s on “I Look To You” ROFL.

All jokes aside, I was super shocked at T-Pain getting his sing on. We’ve always joked about him or whatever, but rarely have I ever seen him sing with NO technological assistance (outside of a regular microphone LOL!). Color me suprised. Please page Akon, it’s his turn next.

Did you catch T-Pain cop a seat for a few seconds and catch his breath? Outofshapegameproper! LOL, kidding. It was random though.

And is that Sophia Fresh? ROFL well, that explains why their album isn’t out yet and why Richgirl is/was on tour opening for Beyonce’…

So You Think You Can Dance’s Stunning Tyce Diorio Piece

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Jul 23, 09

      manda 8 @ Yahoo! Video

I don’t know how many fans of SYTYCD there are on Tha Feedback, and I myself am not a regular watcher, but I will catch it every so often.

I watched last night because Laurieann Gibson tweeted that she’d be on the show (and I love her LOL), so I tuned in.

One of the show’s choreographers Tyce Diorio did an awesome piece about a woman dealing with breast cancer, and most of the judges and the crowd were brought to tears. I was moved myself after watching it again today.

Dance, when done the right way, is such a powerful art form. One can easily forget that these days what with such things as the “Booty Dew” and “Halle Berry” and whatnot. Which are all fine, but let’s remember that we don’t always have to slum around when it comes to music and dance.

Open up your heart and brain! Back to your regularly scheduled programming. LOL!

Ginuwine Almost Called It Quits — Literally & Figuratively

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Jun 17, 09

Ginuwine recently did an interview with Essence.com and talked about how he tried to commit suicide multiple times and was also dealing with an addiction (which I didn’t even know):

ESSENCE.COM: Your album is typically you with an all-star lineup, but folks are accusing you of  swagger-jacking Justin Timberlake because of the Timbaland-produced anthem “Get Involved.” How do you feel about that?
      GINUWINE
: (Laughs.) Are you serious? If that’s copying Justin Timberlake I want to know whether people say the same thing about him when he hooked up to work with Tim, whom I’ve worked with for years? People are real funny.

ESSENCE.COM:  On a more serious note, you lost both your parents in 1999 and 2000. How have you been coping?
      GINUWINE
: After my father shot himself to death and my mother died from cancer less than a year later, I really didn’t want to be here anymore, I didn’t want to live and tried to commit suicide more than once. There was no one around that I really loved at the time, so I turned to the drinking and drugs like weed and ecstasy. I was done mentally and emotionally to the point that I had to go see a psychiatrist, but that didn’t do any good because I wasn’t interested. In fact, the two times I visited him I was high. I was depressed and felt like I had nobody to talk to that could relate to me.

ESSENCE.COM: Wow. What was the turning point for you?
      GINUWINE
: I had one friend who intervened and begged me to get help. Even though I didn’t continue with my therapy, I went to church and received counseling from my pastor and got straight spiritually. I was able to turn away from all those things that were destroying me and finally think clearly. I had to ask myself whether or not I wanted to go out like my dad and have my kids hurt the way I was hurting. I’ve been clean for about seven years. Now, I keep all that stuff away from me, especially when I’m on the road. (Source)

LOL @ Ginuwine copying Justin Timberlake. WHAT?! Elgin Lumpkin was doing Timbaland while Timberflake was in DIAPERS! LOL. People need to get out of here.

Anyway, Ginuwine’s album is supposedly out June 23rd. I’d heard “Get Involved” previously, but after a couple of spins I can get into the dancey-ness of it LOL. And I miss Missy!

I had no idea Ginuwine was dealing with all that…you just never know what is going on with folks “behind the blogs”. Seriously.

Bruno to Eminem: “Tell Me How My A** Tastes!”

Written by The IPS in Blogs on May 31, 09

Get the Flash Player to see the wordTube Media Player.

      SOMEBODY JUST GOT FIRED!

In what was either a publicity stunt gone right or a malfunction or MTV trying to make us care, Sascha Baron Cohen (more info), in his latest comedic role as “Bruno” (more info), inadvertently (the jury is out!) lands smack dab in Eminem’s lap and promptly proceeds to give Eminem the grand view of his backside on tonight’s airing of the MTV Movie Awards 2009.

Shaq would be proud and is probably thinking the same thing (again) to Kobe ANYWAY being that they are going to the finals.

You can see in the clip, Eminem is pissed and is cussing and promptly gets up and walks out after his weed-carriers pull Bruno off of him.

I am envisioning MTV putting out an apology or Eminem appearing on “Celebrity Rehab” next week because I know THAT RIGHT THERE would deffinitely drive me back to the bottle.

How does a straight man keep it hip-hop these days when ish like this happens to him (on accident)!? LOL!

      Picture after the jump!
