    • Classic Flashback: Timbaland & Magoo – “Luv 2 Luv U”

Written by The IPS in Blogs,Videos on Apr 19, 10

OK this was my jam LOL. It randomly popped in my head just now, and I always walked around singing the hook and them harmonies.

Is that Shaunta? Wow, what happened to her….and Magoo for that matter LOL. Is he mopping up the booths at Timbaland’s studio?

“Bird bird bird, bird is the word…” I always died on that Magoo part. Really man? And I didn’t remember this video being this crazy LOL.

Good times. Timbaland is a long way from this…

Who Doesn’t Love Hot Cakes!? Timbaland’s “Carry Out” Video With J. Timberlake Drops

Written by The IPS in Videos on Feb 19, 10

Sorry for no posts yesterday, I have the cold from Hell. Precious’ mama has been sitting on my chest!

OK, basically what I got from this video is the following, in bullet form:

      • Timbaland really shouldn’t be in his videos anymore. Both him and Justin Timberlake just seem old, uncomfortable, bored and out of place. What happened to Justin’s swagger!? I think he just phoned it in for this video and got his check and bounced.
      • The best thing about this video? The girls dancing in front of the “Hot Cakes” sign! YES! HAHA, that was hilarious.
      • Sebastian stay being  a weed carrier. In fact, in this video, he should have just been Timbaland’s younger body double, cause Timbo Da King is looking big as ever. Married life weight gain?
      • There was no real video besides them and some girls dancing. Wamp.
      • While the beat to this song is hot, the lyrics make me want to die a quick painless death inside. Seriously. Listen to them.

This is Timbaland’s 3rd single from his Shock Value 2 album, which I initially didn’t like but has grown on me tremendously. Some of the beats are there are fire, even though they are recycled Timbo fire. Generally, what I’ve found w/ this album is that the beats and backgrounds are great — the lyrics just need equal amounts of attention. But, it’s mindless pop (more so pop than hip-hop, I promise you too) and it’s good when you are cleaning and want to dance around the house. That’s about it.

Sad to say that Miley Cyrus song goes hard — but my favorite is “Lose Control” with JoJo…LOVE that joint, love her voice.

The iCan’t of The Day: Timbaland

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Dec 15, 09

Timbaland been talking all kinds of reckless lately in the press. But his latest comments have made me scratch my sideeye continuously, even more so than his start/stop way of talking and the way his arms look like they were attached to his body surgically!

In the above clip in a sitdown with MTV, he says the following:

After my last album, I know where my bread and butter is at,” Tim explained. “I know 75 percent [of the people who buy my album] are women who love Timbaland and most are the women who watch ‘Desperate Housewives’ and all those others. I did this research. It’s the women who watch ‘Sex and the City,’ ‘Desperate Housewives’ — all the real go-to-the-bar women like Timbaland, and mostly European women. It lets me know that my fanbase is mostly women and they are from all cultures. So it’s not a person who loves mostly hip-hop. It’s a person who loves everything besides hip-hop.”

Please, Someone “Say Something” To Timbaland & Drake Already!

Written by The IPS in Videos on Dec 9, 09

Timbaland has hit us with another single, and it’s one that at least seems to be more straightforward and make sense. Because I am STILL salty about that “Morning After Dark” clip and the vampires and all that…I just couldn’t. In hindsight, the beat is recycled Timbo but still kind of hot.

However, this joint is not that. You know it’s bad when you think about if the main artist went away how much better the song might be. That’s just the case for this video. Drake has a nice spit and I’m not even really mad at his hook skills on this joint either. What I cannot deal with is Timbaland and his epileptic shocks and seizures that he is considering “dance moves”.

Overall, song is coo, video is straightforward, and Drake still has no album yet is doing MAD features eveyrwhere. You’d think he be taking notes for his own next video (what not to do and what to do LOL)…we can only hope.

Scraps From Timbaland’s Bassment Floor Via A New Video & Song

Written by The IPS in Blogs,New Music & Reviews,Videos on Nov 28, 09

Much like his album is sounding like a bunch of scraps and leftovers from juts whatever he felt like putting together so far…

The above video is the “International” version of his video “Morning After Dark” which I posted previously. It’s basically the same wack video just with a verse/appearance sung by Nelly Furtado, and it’s a condensed version of the previous video as well. I STILL don’t understand why he messed up this video like that. However, he already has a video in the can for his song with Drake called “Say Something”, which really sounds like Common’s “Punch Drunk Love” to me…

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

A new song also leaked called “The One I Love” with Keri Hilson, Chris Brown and rapper D.O.E. Not really caring about this one either — I just really feel like Timbo is disconnected or on some other planet and is not really caring what we his listeners think. Plus it’s just kinda wack, and I think I just said a couple posts ago how maybe him & Keri need to get back together. Well, Keri’s a star in her own right and I think she’s giving Timbo her leftovers too. Wamp. Chris Brown won’t be on the final version either because of “timing”. Sure.

Timbaland Is A Vampire In This New “Morning After Dark” Clip? Okay.

Written by The IPS in Videos on Nov 22, 09

Well, this video was nothing I was expecting. I think I was expecting something along the lines of his “Way I Are”, nothing along the lines of “New Moon”, the vampire craze sweeping the nation.

Timbaland’s new artist, French singer/songwriter Soshy also takes a role in this video, in which they are protecting a woman (a fine one at that though) from some other vampires.

All we are missing is Missy Elliott busting in as a werewolf. Oh and what, no Magoo? Oh the humanity!

Overall, I think I’m a little disappointed with this and just this new Timbaland music in general. Nothing has grabbed me as quickly as the material from his last album did. This video further confounds, but if you listen to the lyrics of this song, what is he talking about anyway? I’m sure we could spin off the metaphors and whatnot, but…yeah, I think I’ll pass period.

      What do you guys think?

New Music: Timbaland – “Ease Off The Liquor” Feat. SoShy

Timbaland – “Ease Off The Liquor” Feat. SoShy [Listen + Download]

A number of leaks have dropped from Timbo’s album which is set to drop Nov. 23rd, however, this has been my favorite so far.

Timbaland likes to flip the ends/latter halves of his songs, and this song is no exception to that. However, the song takes on a flamenco feel which I LOVE towards the end. Definitely has more of a world music vibe, as opposed to his usual morph of hip-hop beats mixed with pop beats mixed with old Timbo, etc…

He’s real keen on this new French artist of his, SoShy, but she’s ringing in as Nelly Furtado lite to me. We will see though.

      This joint go though!

      Album Covers: Timbaland + Rihanna

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Oct 27, 09

Why do I feel like they just put Timothy’s face on the cover and none of his body and whatnot because he’s supposedly gained so much weight? Getting married’ll do that to ya.

*insert bad joke about her covering up a black eye here*

Both albums are out Nov. 23rd…November is gonna be a busy music month, that’s for sure.

      New Music: Jahiem & Timbaland/Keri/Jay-Z

Written by The IPS in Movies,New Music & Reviews on Oct 22, 09

Two new joints dropped today that I thought were decent, so here’s a new music post!

Jaheim – “Ain’t Leaving Without You” [Listen + Download]

A new easy breezy Jaheim joint has surfaced today on the internets called “Ain’t Leaving Without You” and it’s crazy because I was just thinking about “what happened to Jaheim!?” Not a very good live performer but some of his songs are decent pop/R&B jams, and I wouldn’t call him a crooner, but he definitely had a penchant for a ballad. Not sure if this is coming from his new 5th album or not, but we haven’t heard from him in a minute. Jaheim’s voice is an interesting one — not too strong in and of itself, but you can really hear the thinness of it when he gets into the upper ranges, but the De La Soul/Whatanauts sample makes this instantly catchy. Listen and tell me what you think.

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

Timbaland – “Rumors” Feat. Keri Hilson & Jay-Z [Listen + Download]

Keri Hilson really just GOES with Timbaland ish for the most part. She’s an excellent featured artist, I swear. Songs from Shock Value 2 have been leaking left and right, including the song “Say Something” with Drake and another song with a French artist SoShy which was the official single. I hear Brandy is going to be rapping on Shock Value 2 under the name “BranNu” as well. Interesting.

Shock Value 2 drops November 23rd last I heard, and while I’ve not been too crazy about the other joints that have leaked, this one moves me around in my seat. Jay’s flow fits too with the tempo and I am enjoying it. Though Timbaland still has the propensity to sound like he’s repeating himself with his tracks, I’m sure SV 2 will be a monster.
