    • T-Pain Strays Away From Giving Us An Example Of The “Reverse Cowgirl” Thankfully

Written by The IPS in Videos on Mar 18, 10

T-Pain and his Auto-tuned audible delights (or nightmares, your choice) are clearly here to stay. And I know for a fact the label loves him (and his publishing company too) because he writes and produces all his own material, which cuts down on overhead all across the board (and puts MORE $$ in his pocket). Trust me, I’ve seen the checks.

“Reverse Cowgirl” is a song that I just really cannot go there with today LOL. It’s his first single from his upcoming album Revolver (no John Legend). If you don’t know what Reverse Cowgirl is, it’s a sexual position, and gleefully, this video strays away from the obvious — T-Pain goes all high-fashion and faux couture in this clip. Music is motion — and so is the Reverse Cowgirl if you are doing it right — so we are treated to a lot of visual stimulation as opposed to…other kinds.

Can someone please tell me why he is rocking that Rick Ross beard!? NOT a good look! He looks like Hamburglar and Rick Ross had an incestuous baby named Faheem Najm AKA T-Pain. LOL!

T-Pain Thankfully Doesn’t Do What His New Video/Song Say — “Take Your Shirt Off”

Written by The IPS in Videos on Dec 3, 09

T-Pain has a new song and while the song on intial listen was a nice little party joint, the video seems kinda lackluster compared to a live video he had released the other day.

Get into the cameos of George Clinton and of course PETEY PABLO, who this song is obviously a nod to. Where did they drag up from!? Petey should have done a verse or remix or something, because I live for his ad-libs ROFL.

All of T-Pain’s “artists” showed up to collect a check as well. Wamp.

The video itself is a nice little nod to black Greeks but other than that, I think it just deflates, for lack of a better term, the “crunkness” and energy the song initially had.

T-Pain Gives A Live Taste of New Single “Take Your Shirt Off”

Written by The IPS in Videos on Nov 20, 09

OK I gotta give it to T-Pain, he was LIVE. So were all his co-horts. Sophia Fresh (wow, weed carriers much!? Where THEY been!?), Omarion (….I got nothing), Tay Dizm…ok I am just gonna stop right there.

This song is MAD hype though. The beat kinda goes hard live, and like it or not, T-Pain gets the crowd moving. I’m split 50/50, I think after I heard this song a couple more times, I’d be done with it. Doesn’t detract from the fact that it is kinda catchy. God help us. The mp3 comes across a little more 2D than this live performance though.

God bless T-Pain and his new single “Take Your Shirt Off”. Let’s hope he keeps that Chocolate Rain under his umbrella of an XXXL white tee!

What do ya’ll think? A proper video was shot back in October, so I’m sure it’s sure to drop anytime. His new album is called RevolveR and it’s dropping as soon as Sophia Fresh get done coloring in all the artwork for the jewel cases. LOL, let me quit.

T-Pain Gets His Billy Jean On + Sounds Alright Doing It!

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Aug 28, 09

Spotted this at Miss Info’s spot…

Wow, WOW. T-Pain actually sounds really decent. Runs and ‘errthang! His runs sound cleaner than Whitney’s on “I Look To You” ROFL.

All jokes aside, I was super shocked at T-Pain getting his sing on. We’ve always joked about him or whatever, but rarely have I ever seen him sing with NO technological assistance (outside of a regular microphone LOL!). Color me suprised. Please page Akon, it’s his turn next.

Did you catch T-Pain cop a seat for a few seconds and catch his breath? Outofshapegameproper! LOL, kidding. It was random though.

And is that Sophia Fresh? ROFL well, that explains why their album isn’t out yet and why Richgirl is/was on tour opening for Beyonce’…

Video: Maino – “All The Above” (Feat. T-Pain)

Written by The IPS in Videos on Mar 25, 09

T-Pain guests on this new Maino single. The single dropped a while ago and I thought about putting it on a podcast but I declined. However, the video makes the song a little more dynamic. It’s pretty cut and dry though in terms of the treatment.

I see why T-Pain calls his record label Nappy Boy. Check out that beard/goatee he is rocking ROFL. I can’t. Sometimes dude looks like he just doesn’t smell kosher.

T-Pain On Your iPhone, And Not Via Ringtones…

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Feb 11, 09

      T-Pain

It’s official — the “T” in T-Pain stands for “traveling” pain, because now you too can sound like Faheem Najm on the go!

The people who created “AutoTune”, Antares, have linked with him to create an iPhone app that will continue to cause everyone and their mama to think they too can be music stars.

Maybe he made Ciara’s “Go Girl” with this app in its testing stages? LOL! Roger Troutman is about to raise up from the grave and strike all these negroes with the Black Death. Or…that is what I pray for.

At the end of this now-boilerplate “Intro to Auto-Tune for Frightened Boomers” story in Time is a small glimpse at a future in which drunken phone fights with your ladyfriend can precisely replicate “808s & Heartbreak.” T-Pain and Antares are collaborating on an Auto-Tune app for the iPhone, with which you can use the company’s vocal-transforming software to pitch-shift your own voice via cellphone.

Georganna Drayton, chief operating officer of Antares, confirmed in a phone conversation that Antares is currently negotiating the rollout and programming of the application, which she says will “use our software and T-Pain’s beats so you can make music on the iPhone.” Drayton doesn’t expect that it will integrate with your iPhone calls, so all you kids hoping for a future in which a day spent hunting for Greek food in the mall turns into an icy, pitch-corrected R&B hit will have to hold off awhile yet. I don’t think that this is what Steve Jobs had in mind.

      Video: T-Pain – “Freeze”

Written by The IPS in Videos on Jan 5, 09

T-Pain is really just phoning these in now. And I am afraid Chris Brown won’t help this tepid song. T-Pain, what happened?

Is he about to cash out and quit being an artist? I wouldn’t be mad if he only did guest spots and produced. I really wouldn’t. I think all those favors he called in phoned their favors in LOL.

It was cool for “Can’t Believe It”, but after that, it’s time to switch directors. Syndrome is dope, but the videos they have done with T-Pain are making them look like one-trick ponies!

“One More Drink” is my jam though, but that’s a Luda song. But you get what I am saying? LOL.

Do we have thoughts on this green screen lazy day debacle? I vote top hat down.

      Live Performances: T-Pain – “Chopped & Skrewed”

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Nov 24, 08

Your Ears Have Officially Been Chopped & Skrewed!

Nah, T-Pain does a convincing dark chocolate gummy bear routine, yes? LOL!

I think the thing that T-Pain err’ed on was singing OVER the track. It then made it that much more evident that was he flat and/or sharp about 65% of the time during this performance. And his little dance step at the end had me dying. Like he said, “wait a minute, I been saving this all day, LET ME BUSS IT OUT ON EM REAL QUICK!”

I think Luda was laughing AT him, not WITH him.

Thanks to Ludacris for making this perofrmance interesting at the end. Oh and the girls in the body paint, HOLLAAAAA! T-Pain still concocted a nice track and I live this joint. The changes the band were doing were cool, it gave a nice balance to the “ROBOT VOICE! ROBOT VOICE!” <– watch the show LOL.
