Women Can Put You Through “Misery”, Just Ask Maroon 5′s Adam Levine

Maroon 5 is back and I LOVE it. One of my favorite groups. Good guys too. Good pop rock music. “Misery” is their latest and greatest single, and the Joseph Khan directed video is over the top fun. I take it on two different levels:
- We breakup to make up, right? Because make up sex is the best sex, right? So this clip is all about the sexual chemistry and fiery passion that happens right after (and/or during) a fight or argument. HOWEVER –
- Because Adam Levine is a rock frontman, he never dies or gets hurt. It’s a long standing myth that our favorite rockers live on (most of them at least, in practice LOL) no matter what — whether it be drugs, alcohol, “rehab”, whatever. That’s exemplified here.
Of course the band members aren’t that lucky, but you know, it’s all about the front man and lead singer.

I love Adam Levine but I wish dude would add some BASS to that voice!

Their new album Hands All Over is due out September 21st!

Explore Music: The Black Keys’ “Tighten Up” Is Soulful & Rocked Out

I love The Black Keys. Their soulful blend of rock just hits the right notes for me, and a lot of other hip-hop heads apparently. They worked with Dame Dash and a host of other talent for the Blackroc project, and now their back with their own music with their new album called Brothers, which hit stores today.

“Tighten Up” is the first single that drops and it features some hilarious moments. The members of the group meet up while their sons play on the playground (one of which smells like ranch, HA!). Enter a girl, and chaos ensues. And of course remember, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree!

Something Different: DJ Skee & Chris Cornell “Scream” Mixtape

Check this out — one of my favorite rock singers Chris Cornell recently dropped an album called Scream a couple of months back, which was executive produced by Timbaland.

I still give the album a slight side-eye but it’s undeniable that Timbaland makes funky dance beats and that Chris Cornell is an amazing singer. The album at times seems ill-matched but when it’s on, it’s on.

My favorite songs are “Part of Me”, “Watch Out”, and “Ground Zero”. “Long Gone” is also a good song, but I hope his next album takes more of a pure Cornell approach, though I applaud him for trying something different.

This mixtape features a mix of hip-hop, rock and electronic influenced tracks and remixes in a tribute to the style of Chris’ latest album, and is mixed by DJ Skee. I’m going to download for work today, but thought I’d share!
