Some of ya’ll might have seen this before, but OMG, I saw this on Facebook and it has just absolutely completely and wholly destroyed my productivity today. I hope it does the same for you! He sound better than Mariah does these days though…this is probably what she sounds like WITHOUT the auto-tune and studio effects LOL.

OK, seriously, Ne-Yo: pot, kettle, kettle, pot — have ya’ll met?
I respect what Ne-Yo has done as an artist, producer, songwriter, businessman, etc. Am I fan of his music? Cherrypicking through his catalog, sure. He has some decent songs. Most of which I feel might have done better if they were sung by others, but still, I give props where they are due.
However, with this “Beautiful Monster” foolery he has going on lately (which I would posit is NOT R&B, AT ALL), I don’t think he should be casting stones at anyone with that fragile glass house his own music is living in currently.
Now, he’s entitled to his opinion like anyone else, but the fact that he started it off by saying that Trey Songz’s voice is incredible already lets me know that he ain’t about nothing. That was Ne-Yo not shutting any doors down or burning any bridges for Trey’s NEXT record. Catch it!

Chris Brown, never one to rest on the goodwill a good cry will give you, is starting back up the machine on his road to redemption with a trailer about a project he’s involved in called “12 Strands”. It looks to be some sort of mini-movie/trailer, with a lot of action and choreographed fight scenes. Go Go Light Skinned Ranger! [Power Rangers reference -- pimp!]

“The Karate Kid” already hit theaters Chris, and I don’t think that you want to make Jaden Smith mad! He will Jackie Chan you!
Just because you do [and I use that term loosely] a Michael Jackson tribute doesn’t mean this is Thriller. The “thriller” will be how/where/when/if this comes out. Chris Brown the smoking, fighting action star. Ask Alicia Keys how that turns out. Seen “Smoking Aces 2″? HAHAHA!

Affion Crockett is hilarious with these spoofs. He also did a spoof of Chris Brown’s “Deuces” video. Called it “Douche It”. I just really can’t with that one.

Jimmy Kimmel and that “accent” and Drake wearing that doo-rag? That just sent off fireworks in my MIND HAHAHA.

I’m glad everyone is clean and getting off drugs though (welcome back Vince the ShamWow dude). But this is kinda corny, but in an ok way. I remember when Eminem used to run around flashing his bare butt and bashing gays. Now he’s for gay marriage and making tame faux “paid commercials”. The times, they are a-changing.
However, he’s getting old, so maturity is good thing LOL.
So, ummm, who is planning my funeral? I’d like Lil’ Wayne to deliver the eulogy and please have Drake sing “Going Up Yonder” with Auto-Tune set on the highest level as possible so Nicki Minaj can do the “Robot” down the aisle and around my casket. I just can’t!

Yo, I loved Algebra’s album that “U Do It For Me” was taken from. I hadn’t heard her name in a while, but I do follow her on Twitter, as well as Novel, and apparently Novel is working on some new music after officially getting his release from his dead end label deal. He’s a free agent and he turns in this remake of Algebra’s song mixed with some original verses and vocals.
Novel was singing and rhyming way before Drake BTW. Just wanted to point that out LOL.

V V Brown is about to hit the road with one of my OTHER favorite bands, Maroon 5 this summer. Tour dates after the jump. And I didn’t know there was a video for “Shark In The Water”! You’ll be seeing that soon.
Anyway, she took to Carson Daly to share some stories, do a bit of singing, and play a one-stringed guitar. I love it. Seriously.
Cop Traveling Like The Light if you haven’t already, it fits right in in between Yahzarah’s The Ballad of Purple St. James and Janelle Monae’s The ArchAndroid. Yep!

K. Michelle is one in a long line of female R&B singers that possess that gritty voice, seemingly rough & tough exteriors but are just soft women on the inside, looking for love in all the wrong places and all that. Usually their stories are spun out to be hard beginnings with smoother endings, and the label starts them off as hard-knock R&B chanteuses that eventually morph into these soulful and powerful pictures of progress, change and soul. Straight from the book of Mary J. Blige and Keyshia Cole, if they make it that far. Lord knows some of them never make it past the first album (a few like Sharissa and Shareefa come to mind).
So K. Michelle is the latest in that template to be put before us, and while her vocals are definitely a bit more refined than say, Keyshia Cole’s were in the beginning, I still feel like she doesn’t have enough “oomph” to really make an impact otherwise. “Fallin’” is a cute enough song, and she delivers it well live in this clip, but she just lacks a certain charisma that I feel we need to connect with her or the song.
