CLASSIC PRINCE. Classic songs. Love this performance from Oprah.
Prince is the penultimate at his lane, I promise. There is nothing else that needs to be said LOL. I like his new album too. 20Ten.
That is all.

If you notice that shirt Prince had on tonight at the BET Awards 2010, you will see it was a picture of him. Wearing that same outfit almost. ONLY Prince! And my bet recap is coming later…I think. Maybe. I don’t know, if time permits LOL.
However, if you saw the back side (which I did notice earlier), it said “20Ten” and the the “ten” was inside the 0 of the 20. I was wondering if that was referring to something special, and sure enough, I stumbled upon this:
Prince’s new CD 20Ten (some title) will be released first through a Belgium newspaper on July 10. An interview took place with the newspaper which teases the release.
Other newspaper deals may follow as deals were trying to be reached. Warner Bros. was mentioned as releasing the CD to other countries not participating in the newspaper giveaway. More than likely that means the U.S. as when he did the giveaway before, the U.S. was not part of it. [Source]
Say word!?! Prince’s post heyday music has been sketchy at best — and while he will always be PRINCE, I think we can only take so much mediocre-ish music. But, he’s a legend, and “Black Sweat” was my ish, so I will of course download this illegally since it may or may not be coming to the US…
Don’t know if this is a rumor or not, but I guess we will find out soon enough!
Michael Jackson has made his ear very “Spockian” — was he trying to get cast as a Vulcan so HE could smooch on Zoe Saldana in the last Star Trek movie!? I mean, WOW. Dude been taking from his ear to fix his nose.
That’s crazy. (Source)
More after the jump!
It’s a well known fact that Prince has vaults and vaults of videos that he’s shot for a lot of his songs and never released. I would pay a lot of money to see some of those!
I wonder if that trend continues on his new 3-disc set? Did anyone get to Target to pick it up? I don’t get paid until next week but I am definitely going to get it.
This is a track from the MPLSoUND album. I’m not even going to front like I get this video. I was just waiting for Laurence Fishbourne to jump out and kick someone through the chest, but no.
I’m not CRAZY about this song either, I was trying to decipher the lyrics. But I am still sick AND I got pinkeye so yeah, I don’t know. I will let Stefkes handle this later LOL!
Last night Prince performed “Feel Good, Feel Better” on the last day of his Jay Leno run. HOW FUNKY. FACT: The IPS can play the tambourine (amongst other percussion instruments). PAUSE for all my church/Madea fans. I ain’t no TAMBOURINE player LOL.
He also performed “Dreamer” the night before, with just him and some lovely guitar. HE EVEN GAVE THE GUITAR AWAY. So not fair.
Enjoy!!
Oh man, I am so sad that I am not in L.A. to crash the mansion and check out a party or performance. Seriously, Prince is my like, Top 5. He performed his new song “Ol’ Skool Company” last night on Leno, the 2nd of his 3 night stand. I missed it the previous night, but I will be catching tonight’s performance!
And let me give a shoutout to one of my friends and old artist I used to manage who is now singing backup for Prince, Liv Warfield. A talented artist in her own right, check her out! She is the one last to the right w/ the tambourine LOL.
How good is this song? I will be spending my recession dollars at Target next week Tuesday to get those 3 albums. Yes sir, yes ma’am.
GET INTO IT!

Oh shoot, I think I just crapped my pants. I am SO excited about this CD coming out and my non-cable having arse will be able to watch Prince for free!? Score.
Prince will perform on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno three nights in a row, March 25-27, as he builds anticipation for the March 29 release of two new albums, “LOtUSFLOW3R” and “MPLSoUND.” Prince will also perform a fourth night on the “Tonight Show,” May 28th, in celebration of the end of Leno’s run as host of the show.
Both CDs, along with a third by new artist Bria Valente, will be available as a three disc set exclusively through Target for a price of $11.98.
The “Tonight Show” performances are part of a larger roll-out for the CD package in Los Angeles. In an email message sent to fans who signed up for updates on lotusflow3r.com, Prince wrote, “From the 24th on, there will b a slew of NPG-related events happening around electric LAlaland.. we don’t want 2 give away all the details yet, but b prepared 2 get yo groove on, numerous ways 4 numerous days. We know $ is tite but the adventures will b worth ur while! Stay 2ned 2 this outtaspacestation.” (Source)
Prince, I thank you and your alien masters for unleashing this musical blessing upon us at a reduced rate. May Sweet Minty Jesus & The Purple One frolic forever in musical heaven!
To top that off, Michael Jackson has added more shows — again, I WILL do some hoe ish to make it to these shows. I WANT TO GO. BADLY. Anyone like ‘em stout and can cook? I’m saying. I’m big sexy over here! He’s added another 16 SHOWS. I hear he may even be releasing new music too.
This is the year of the greats! If this new Whitney Houston album cracks (no pun intended LOL)…wow. It’ll feel like the 80′s all over again.

I posted the album cover a while back, but new details have emerged today about Prince’s next musical opus — it’s going to be sold exclusively at Target.
Prince is coming to a Target near you.
The superstar is releasing a three-disc CD set through the retailer at the end of this month. The set will include two new albums — “LOtUSFLOW3R” and “MPLSoUND” — as well as a third by his new artist, Bria Valente, for the price of $11.98.
Prince is just the latest music legend to release new music exclusively through a major retailer. AC/DC and the Eagles were among the acts who sold millions of CDs through their partnership with Wal-Mart.
Prince has released his recent CDs through major labels, but they were one-album deals that gave him the flexibility to go elsewhere when the project was done. Last fall, he released a coffee table book of photos titled “21 Nights” documenting his record-breaking, 21-night run at London’s 02 Arena in 2007. The book also included a CD of live performances.
“Prince has long been renowned as one of the world’s most original and iconic musical artists,” said Mark Schindele, Target’s senior vice president of merchandising. “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to share his most recent work with our Target guests.”
The CD set will be on sale at Target and its Web site on March 29. (Source)
$11.99!? I’m there. And I’m mad he’s putting out this Bria Valente chick…who? Who cares? Why? I am still mad he never put out my girl Tamar’s album…scandalous.
I also hear that an artist I used to manage now sings backup for Prince LOL. Congrats to her!

You can hear some of the new music at his website.
No release date yet, but I will be the first in line, yep! How about you?

Sorry, it’s been a busy Friday. Real life has been getting in the way of me being a blogger LOL.
As I jet off to another meeting and to shake my a** with Mystikal in the speakers somewhere tonight, I wanted to share that the Purple One is going to put out 3 ALBUMS this year. That’s right, 3. And he’s going to release it via one retailer and via the Web. And probably send up rainbows that will rain mp3 chips into people’s pockets because well, he is PRINCE.
I’m gonna guess that the retailer he WON’T be doing it with is Circuit City LOL. They are el bankrupto.
Probably Best Buy, maybe K-Mart. Or Wal-mart! I stay in a Wal-Mart!! Anyway, here’s a long article excerpt from an in-depth blog that ran on the LA Times music blog that I thought was interesting.
I need to hit up my girl Tamar and get the whole story on what happened with that…
It was 11 p.m. on the night before New Year’s Eve, and I was doing something I hadn’t expected would crown my 2008: sitting in Prince‘s limousine as the legend lounged beside me, playing unreleased tracks on the stereo. “This is my car for Minneapolis,” he said before excusing himself to let me judge a few songs in private. “It’s great for listening to music.” He laughed. “I don’t do drugs or I’d give you a joint. That’s what this record is.”
That morning I’d received an e-mail inviting me to preview new music at Prince’s mansion in the celebrity-infested estate community of Beverly Park, where he’s currently keeping his shoe rack. The summons wasn’t entirely unexpected. Prince, who’s less reclusive than his reputation would indicate, has spent a year and a half consulting with culture industry leaders and occasionally entertaining media types, with an eye toward taking complete control of his own musical output.
His new mantra is “The gatekeepers must change,” and he’s refashioned his career to become one of them.
Since beginning his gradual relocation from the Midwest to the Left Coast, Prince has headlined the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and 2007′s Super Bowl halftime show. He sold out a 21-night run at London’s O2 Arena and released an album, a high-end photo book and a perfume. Most recently, he’s whetted fans’ appetites with sneaks of songs from three upcoming releases, first on the popular “Jonesy’s Jukebox” radio program on Indie 103 and then on two websites, the now-dark MPLSound.com and the still-evolving Lotusflow3r.com.
