    • Kid CuDi & Kanye’s Hair Do 106 & Park + New “Day ‘N’ Nite” Video

Written by The IPS in Blogs,Videos on Feb 19, 09

LOL this isn’t a cypher when you are spitting verses you have pre-written, right? I thought that was the rule, but maybe it’s just me. Freestyle Friday FAIL.

Kid CuDi seems to fun to hang around in that “boy WTF you talking about TODAY!?” way. I wonder if he hangs out with B.o.B. His debut album is going to be called Man on the Moon: The Guardians. Really? I can’t! Why is everyone aliens and martians and astronauts and hipsters and skinny jean wearing thugs and bootleg Outkast beats mixed with some techno…

I can’t! I can, but at the same time, I can’t! I like CuDi, that rant was necessarily aimed towards him LOL.

Kanye — his hair is so distracting that it was all I could look at until I heard the censors bleep him out. Only Kanye would cuss on a “kid friendly” show so to speak. BET ain’t been kid friendly ever…but you know what I mean. And he just didn’t even give a what either LOL. “Don’t clap so you can hear my words” — that’s why we buy the CD. Otherwise, I’m not hearing them anyway. Your mullet is in the way! But his verse was kinda fuego, too.

Kid CuDi drops the video for the original mix of “Day ‘N’ Nite” as well. Peep it after the jump. I like both videos and both mixes honestly so yeah. What ya’ll think?

Brandy…*sigh*…Live Performance from “Today Show” of Right Here (Departed)

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Dec 5, 08

Wow, this performance is so bland.

And they slowed the song down EVER MORE.

Case in point — I’m chillin’ at mom’s house (free wi-fi and food, you hatin’?) and she walked by randomly and was like, “Umm I don’t like that. I liked her singing better when she was a baby.” ROFL

That’s what I am saying, if you aren’t really a Brandy STAN, I don’t think this is the album you will buy to get introduced. I have a theory — there are some songs you sing and write for others and some that you sing and write for yourself. I am starting to feel like for Brandy, this album and it’s material falls into the latter and not the former.

But this performance is just so…yikes. I didn’t even want to watch it to the end. Talk about phoned in…band, backgrounds, lead vocals and all.

Live Performances: Usher on Victoria Secret Fashion Show

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Dec 4, 08

I think the fact that Usher Raymond is still performing songs from his 2004 album says a lot about where he is musically right now LOL. “What’s Your Name” was one of the more “ok” songs from “Here I Stand”, but that’s only relative to the rest of the songs on that album.

But really, Usher has done better. I really felt that he phoned this one in, and to be the only performer on the whole show…he was very underwhelming. Though I really think that no one was paying attention to him ANYWAY. Still, he REALLY was background music. They could have played the tracks and I would’ve been fine with that even.

Can Usher still bring it? Did anyone go check out his “Ladies Night” tour?

      Video: NKOTB & Ne-Yo – “Single”

Written by divaTy in Videos on Sep 2, 08

Hey guys, it’s divaTy here to dazzle you again. The IPS wanted me to post this New Kids on the Block video because it is entertaining for all the wrong reasons. First of all, they know they are too old to still be up in the club. And what’s with them getting their Five Heartbeats on with the mic stands? Which one is Eddie? Ne-Yo is still trotting out his tired Michael Jackson impression. HE LITERALLY DID THE MOONWALK, Y’ALL. Michael ain’t even moonwalked in 10 years! Where is Laurie Ann Gibson when you need her? I am just embarrassed for everyone involved. I was a big NKOTB fan back in the day, but this whole comeback was just unnecessary. I actually don’t mind the song too much, I just can’t bear to look at them singing it.

But snaps for Donnie’s sassy neck roll!

      OH NO YOU DI-IN'T

Video: Teyana Taylor – “Google Me”

Written by The IPS in Videos on Mar 20, 08

Well, Ms. Teyana Taylor’s video has finally dropped. Oh…what a video it is.

      WHERE DO I START!?

BTW, did I miss the memo that went around the industry saying Jazze Pha was gorgeous? Well color me a beauty pageant queen. “Jason I’m ready for you to make me a star!”

Anyway, in the words of the infamous Simon Cowell, “You are not as good as you think you are.” I must say, the song was not as atrocious as this video is. I’m sure I’m not the intended “audience” for this particular “artist” but, still, let’s just step back and take a look at this.

On paper, Teyana probably was a good bet. She seems to have an effervescent personality LOL. Charisma! Charm! Big hair! Young! She looks like Kelly Rowland and Usher’s wife Maneka Tameka had a butch baby. SKRONG in the face! I won’t go there though.

But this video comes across flat and as a mix of NY influences + Power Puff girls + Mariah Carey fan club with butterflies n’ ish on acid and shrooms. Was she wearing a pirate costume with a bedazzled eye patch!? Sweet Minty Baby Jesus be a ritalin! What is really going on!? LOL @ her getting her Big Worm on selling “Ice Cream” which I am sure was an aside that she’s signed to Star Trak and Pharrell. Which makes these green screen shenanigans make a tad bit more sense. [Was that him on the bicycle?]

Her “charm” does NOT come across the TV screen. She needs to smile with the eyes and give me SOMETHING in the face. She looks like a dead fish for the majority of the video, and the parts where she is “singing” are even worse — she looks like she is a holding a major duece in and is gonna run to the bathroom as soon as the director says “CUT!”

The dancing in and of itself was phoned in. I mean, how you gonna have Bow Wow’s boo Omarion in the video and not ask him to help you with your 1, 2 step!? Ridic. At times it looked like they just started having fun and was like “eff it!” and just wasted money and time goofing around.

I think I’m going to roll with Lil’ Mama and “Shawty Get Loose” if I had to choose a young female rapper. I think Lil’ Mama takes this MUCH more seriously — Teyana is doing this because someone thought she could…maybe. Teyana = FAIL.
