    • Video: Keyshia Cole – “Trust” Feat. Monica

Written by The IPS in Videos on May 6, 09

Now see, I’ve said it before and I will say it again…Keyshia’s looking mighty good these days!!! Minus the tats, she could get it. I’m bougie like that though, so ignore me.

However, that look @ the end of the video…not feeling it LOL. She looked like a butch ghetto barbie ballerina!

As far as the song and video, this duet is SO mediocre to me. There’s no FIRE. There’s no real chemistry. It feels like they recorded it 3000 miles away and piped it digitally to each other to compare notes, it’s just not “there”. I hate to bring up “The Boy Is Mine”, but that duet was believable. This one, not so much.

Monica sang circles around Keyshia on this joint, and evrytime I hear it, I wait for and listen for Monica. Sorry Keysh!

I am excited about what Monica is going to put out, though sometimes Monica’s runs irk me. I love her though!

Live Performances: Keyshia Cole Performs “You Complete Me” on Leno

Written by The IPS in Blogs,Videos on Mar 11, 09

OK so I was debating w/ some Twitter peeps about whether or not I should stay up and watch this performance last night. I am a glutton for punishment, what can I say?

I think relative to some of the other performances she has had in the past, this one was decent. She looked FANTASTIC, minus those blonde highlights she had in that bouffant of hers.

Keyshia look keeps getting stepped up more and more, but, I am still not convinced about her vocals. It wasn’t BAD but Keyshia is NEVER QUITE ON THE NOTE SHE IS SUPPOSED TO BE ON.

But I am nitpicky and “a hater” lol. So be it! Not when people like Ann Nesby kill mess without thinking about it though LOL.

This album is STILL meh to me.

How Does Frankie Upstage Keyshia In Every Way?

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Feb 3, 09

      kcsecondvibecover2

I just posted the Keyshia Cole VIBE cover that is on the latest issue, but I got in my inbox an “alternate cover” that wasn’t used.

      Smart.

As opposed to the artsy, nouveau look of the other cover…this one looks like the cover of a tabloid or something.

PUS how is Frankie upstaging Keyshia!? ROFL Frankie is that CHICK. I love her. That’s just not a good look for Keyshia though. And Neffie might get her own show too?! I can’t LOL. Keyshia is taking a fail for that too. But I guess if they getting their own money, that is the less she has to give them LOL.

If this is what they had even considered putting out, then maybe they do need to be shuttered. They have had some terrible covers over the last few issues…

Magazine Covers: Keyshia Cole Covers VIBE

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Jan 31, 09

      Keyshia Cole Covers Vibe

This is actually a pretty dope cover. It looks like a cover from a more “artsier” magazine like Paper or Interview.

There’s been rumors floating around that Keyshia Cole got a nose job…I don’t pay enough attention to all that mess. That’s for the females to squabble about. All I know is that I hope she doesn’t even change the chesticles! That is one of Keyshia’s saving graces.

Remember all the brouhaha a couple of years ago when Mary J. Blige had that jacked up cover!? Hmm. I guess Manny and Keyshia wasn’t having that…

Video: Keyshia Cole – “You Complete Me”

Written by The IPS in Videos on Jan 22, 09

I’m sure this video is the vision of what Keyshia thought was going to be her and Young Jeezy, but alas, it was not meant to be LOL.

Besides striking a nice figure in that white jumpsuit and looking real tasty in this video, I STILL think this song is boring vocally and goes nowhere. I just can’t get into it. I do enjoy the beat though, but really, it could be her or even J. Holiday singing some “eh’s” over it and it would still be a nice instrumental. Am I right or am I right?!

Keyshia is looking gooooood though. LOL. I’m just glad something about her is maturing.

      What do ya’ll think?

Keyshia Cole Singing A Capella Is Always Iffy…

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Dec 9, 08

ROFL @ her looking like this on national television…I swear, one day she looks good enough to eat, the next…well. Yeah. All I know is that at the end when she leaned back and was holding that note & shaking the body Patti LaBelle style is that her lady lumps were just prominently displayed LOL. And I think that was the best part about this video.

Keyshia should NEVER sing without a pitch pipe, she inevitably gets off during one of her fantastic melismas. Let it goooooooooooooooo.

Did ya’ll see the diva hand!? And so it begins LOL…

New Music: Keyshia Cole – “You Complete Me”

Written by The IPS in New Music & Reviews on Dec 3, 08

      Keyshia Cole

Keyshia Cole – “You Complete Me”

I like this song, though I have to be honest, it does sound like a Mary J. Blige leftover.

However, that’s more due to the music/track/lyrics than it is to Keyshia’s voice. Her voice…I always feel like Keyshia is working to hard most times to get to the notes she needs to hit and that she sounds tired halfway through the beginning of the song. I think she’s just extremely breathy as well, and that is what gives that impression with her music.

This song REALLY makes you wonder…why the hell they put out that old Tupac retread as a SINGLE. EPIC fail for that…Manny could have fought against that one harder! No one cares about Tupac no more, not like that at least to be like “OOOH LOOK! KEYSHIA GOT ‘PAC!”

Album Covers: Keri Hilson x Keyshia Cole

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Nov 18, 08

      Keri Hilson single cover

Keri Hilson is quickly fading from memory as a viable recording artist and this cover is not helping either. What are they going to do with her and WHEN!? Po’ thangs album has been pushed back like Tyra Banks’ glue line 50 times, singles doing lackluster, and just generally, she is being mishandled. It’s not to say that Keri can’t do it, but I am starting to think she shouldn’t. It’s clear that it’s not working. This cover just lends creditability to that train of thought. It’s all faux-edgy and the “Dirty South” necklace just makes it even worse. From classy to cheesy — not a good look! I wish her well though, that song…I don’t like it either really. Just…nothing DIFFERENT. She looks like a left-over member of Xscape. Meh.

      Keyshia Cole album cover

Keylolo Cole’s new album is about to drop, but with that terribly mediocre, 90′s channeling single she has out, she might want to play her cards right and hit the studio to make a new one. Other than that, I am loving the black hair. Keyshia is sexy when she shows some class. But…I’m saying, did they make her Coleman’s smaller? Cause in her videos this past year, the girls were out. Bring them back out! No photoshopping of the funbags Interscope! *pouts*

I just want to know if Frankie drops any bars on any of the album tracks!? She’s bound to be better than that Amina girl Keyshia was trying to push before.
