    • Classic Flashback: Jennifer Lopez – “If You Had My Love”

Written by The IPS in Blogs,Videos on Mar 5, 10

Say what you want about J. Lo, but On The 6 sold millions of copies when it dropped. Sure, it was in the heyday of the music biz, and she couldn’t probably ever repeat that now, but On The 6 had some straight cuts. “If You Had My Love” was a template Darkchild production, down to the vocal arrangements and “strings”, but it was his signature at the time and it gave J. Lo a chart hit.

She’s NEVER been the best singer, but it was the combo of her looks, her dancing and her charisma along with top-notch producers to craft a song from her tepid vocals that kept her music career going. As of late, she hasn’t been able to recreate that magic, but she got plaques. The cycle continues LOL; just look at the charts…

Dirty Money & Louboutins For Sale, Cheap! Diddy & J. Lo Are Equally Terrible These Days…

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Mar 1, 10

Diddy – “They Don’t Love Me” [Listen & Download]

There’s a new Diddy song that is just unacceptable in the canon of what is known as pop music. It’s called “They Don’t Love Me” — and yes, you are right. WE DON’T! What is this mess!? There’s only so much that autotune can do and Diddy is stressing the outer limits on a daily basis with “Angels” and now this song. Is it safe to say that Dirty Money record is going to be pretty dang awful? I thinks so. I hope Dawn & Kaleena are ready to do Gospel plays with Cheri Dennis cause…yeah. The-Dream wants his schtick back. And I want the headache I just got to return back to hell from whence it came!

I hope this is a demo. “Love Come Down” actually grew on me though.

Jennifer Lopez was booked for SNL long before her album was shelved and her latest movie was pushed back, but yet and still, she went anyway. And she performed two new songs — “Starting Over” and “Pieces”. “Pieces” is above and yo, this sh*t is TERRIBLE. Pure and simple, she sounded a mess.

Put on some red bottoms and twerk cause that’s all we care about. OMG, she is flat, sharp, pointy, level to the ground and everything else! LOL I laughed, I just couldn’t even help it. OF COURSE her album was shelved — if she brought me this and I was  the head of the label, she’d get the SEOD too. Acoustic and/or band assisted ballads are NOT her forte. Marc Anthony ain’t helped out his wife in the vocal department?

I bet the neighbors know her name — from her praticing her scales 4x a week with the twins of hers singing along AKA crying cause mommy is hurting them. I can’t.

The Ladies of R&B Hit Up “So You Think You Can Dance”…And Sing

Written by The IPS in Blogs,Videos on Dec 17, 09

      J. Lo
did her flop-first-single-now-being-called-buzz-single “Louboutins” and while she had redeemed herself from the AMA performance and fall with her performance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, she lost all that goodwill with this performance. That overly loud performance lipsync track was TOO much; the dancing wasn’t as crisp and the routine was different (so that’s probably why), that big a__ shoes was just a sparkling monstrosity; and that chorus line ish was just…head scratching.

I THOUGHT SHE REALIZED this was a flop, so why she still perform it? *kanye shrug* NEXT!

Hit the jump for Mary J. Blige’s performance of “I Am” and Lunesta Leona Lewis‘ performance of “I Need You”.

Give J. Lo A 2nd Chance, She Didn’t Fall This Time! “Louboutins” on Ellen…

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Dec 4, 09

OK, I was LOL’ing yesterday at J. Lo telling Ellen that she was still sore from that FALL. Oh man, I laughed. So sorry but…that was funny.

So I felt bad and decided to watch her performance from Ellen and see if it was any better (Sidenote: the title of this video is “J. Lo didn’t fall this time, I cannot! LOL!) and you know, it was alright! For her that is.

Let’s just toss the notion away that she is even singing live. That fact aside — she is dancing her tail off. And the choreography and staging are cool. The boxing ring theme is kinda wack to me though, but I can get into J. Lo dancing and working it out. Her and Ellen’s exit was nice and fit with the lyrics, so I’m not too mad.

If you take J. Lo for what she is — this is kinda decent, yes? Let me know what ya’ll think.

Jennifer Lopez’s Latest Video Not Ready To Come Out The “Oven” Yet

Written by The IPS in Videos on Nov 20, 09

      Overserved and undercooked!

This video really is just an abstract, staccato, writhing wigged out mess of a time.

I would have thought that since no one remotely cared for or seemed interested in this “buzz” single that they wouldn’t have shot a video for it. Pitbull’s usual vigor does nothing for this song either. I think we should actually turn out heads and not look and maybe this will go away?

I like “Louboutins” way more than I like this, but…that’s not saying much. It’s all relative people.

I see that Jennifer Lopez is going for aless dancey vibe this time around. This is definitely not a club track. The video was confusing, what with the repeating shot of Pitbull everytime the chorus came on.

Overall, I’m just….at a loss. I got nothing. *pours out likka for her remixes that were decent w/ Ja Rule days*

      J. Lo Is Back And Strutting In Her “Louboutins”

Written by The IPS in New Music & Reviews on Nov 20, 09

Jennifer Lopez – “Louboutins” [Listen + Download]

Jennifer Lopez AKA J. Lo AKA Lola (whatever she’s decided upon these days) is back with the proper first single from her up coming CD love? which is due out next. She’s also performing Sunday at the American Music Awards, which are set to air on ABC (and I will be live-blogging of course).

“Louboutins” (it took me forever to spell that right) is produced by, who else, Tricky and The-Dream. There are some Dream vocals on this track in the backgrounds, and it’s pretty unmemorable outside of the hook, which J. Lo repeats ad nauseum. That catchy “I’m throwing on my Louboutins” line is ear-wormingly catchy, ugh. I’m gonna hate I ever pressed play on this. It’s no “If You Had My Love” but she can maybe crack the Top 50 with this one…

Whatever Lola Wants, “Lola” Gets…New Music By Jennifer Lopez

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Oct 7, 09

Jennifer Lopez – “Fresh Out The Oven” Feat. Pitbull [Download/Listen]

Jennifer Lopez has renamed herself. Yes, she’s gone all Sasha Fierce, and named herself “Lola”.

      OK.

You know what, I can’t. And there’s nothing to even say. Other than the fact of course, that she could STILL get it!

Do you remember when J. Lo, terrible voice and all, still managed to crank out some pretty decent dance/pop/R&B songs? Well, this isn’t one of them.

It features Pitbull, who sounds like he is swimming through the effects applied to her voice to make her sound palatable.

“Fresh out the oven / straight sugar lovin” — yep, it gets no better than that. She’s even kinda lightweight “rapping”. She takes other people’s hot songs and ruins them though, this is nothing new. But she said something “cookie” and “nookie” and I tuned out of life for a moment.

      *shrugs*

EDIT: J. Lo’s “Lola” persona is NOT permanent. Praise Latin Jesus AKA…Jesus.

It’s Only Important If You WIN Mami

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Mar 25, 08

LOL @ this pull quote I found here. I read this and was like, “is she serious?!”

Jennifer Lopez, the new mother of twins Emme and Max, has told People magazine that she will begin training for a triathlon race due to take place later this year. “Probably in October, September/October,” she says. “I want my babies to be proud of me.” As previously reported, the singer has flown out celebrity trainer Gunnar Peterson to help her get in shape. (Source)

So selling millions of records, making millions on some decent movies, touring the world, charity work, opening restaurants, etc. is not enough to make your children proud of you!?

So was my momma lying all these years to me about a black man getting a job and getting his education and making something of himself being the best thing EVAR?

Please tell Mrs. Lopez-Anthony-Chipotle that she ain’t beating the Kenyans (them nukkas run FAST!), and also that it only matters if you win. Getting a Christian Dior jogging suit, Louboutin tennis shoes and getting a promotional deal with Gatorade do not make you a triathlon winner/runner! She probably gonna have the LopezCopter pick her up from behind a bodega and drop her off 1-mile from the finish line. LOL, let me quit.

I mean, I ran for the bus this morning…does that make my future children proud? I was hoping my six figures and paying for their edumacation would do that.

      Priorities people, PRIORITIES!

J to tha Lo With Her Twins

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Mar 20, 08

      J. Lo with Twins

And no, I’m not talking about her tittayballs, ya’ll so nasty!

Awwww! I won’t even lie, J. Lo still looks fine as a “Wait a minute mutha mutha!” — she’s now just a MILF. I’m glad they didn’t ask Skeletor Marc Anthony to be in this picture, but actually, what does that say about him!? ROFL, no one even cares enough to be upset that he wasn’t included in the family portrait?! Shame.

Anyway, I want some twins.  I can’t wait to have mine. I’mma call one Jesus (Haysoos!) and the other one Sweet Minty. When it’s dinner time, “SWEET MINTY JESUS!” When they been cutting up, “SWEET MINTY JESUS!” When they are talking at church on the front row, “SWEET MINTY JESUS!”

      I think it’s cute, don’t you?

LOL, hopefully J. Lo will put down the microphone and pick up bottles ONLY from now on. She can make more movies, BUT NO MORE MUSIC. She was “Brave” to put out that last album, but you know that was just a tax write-off. She went on tour just to get one last check before she “retired.”

Make Skeletor work them Spanish albums in Los Angeles with some oranges on the freeway exit or something! J. Lo got babies to feed!

I’m just waiting on the pic of Halle’s daughter — you KNOW she’s gonna be adorable! I’m still upset about Halle cheating on me though. She said she wasn’t going to do that any more :(
