    • Janet Jackson Still Has That “X-Factor” We’re Looking For; GaGa Scares Us!

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Dec 6, 09

Janet has hit the overseas circuit to promote her “Greatest Hits” set and she landed at X-Factor doing her hits “All For You” and “Make Me”, the only new song on the set produced by Rodney Jerkins.

I love Janet, “All for You” and “Make Me” so I’m not complaining. Janet is missing a bit of the pep and snap in her set, but I love it because she looks comfortable and happy these days, do you agree with that?

I usually like GaGa a lot and I cannot get enough of “RAH RAH RAH AH AH AH ROMA ROMA MA MAH GA GA OOH LA LA WANT YO BAD ROMANCE!” but this performance was all over the place vocally! And…is that a bathtub? A clawfoot one at that? ROFL GaGa done went all the way left with this costume too…I don’t know. I was a little scared. LOL. I ain’t gon’ lie. I mean, then to just kill the momentum with that piano performance…then the “Thriller”-esque Jerkin’ and insane asylum costume, I just had to send one up to Sweet Minty Jesus real quick. She is international though…

Did you peep how them dancers held their pose though? WORK!

Janet Jackson Is Back And She’s Making Us Move In “Make Me”!

Written by The IPS in Videos on Nov 20, 09

My goodness…Janet Jackson looks so happy and centered and in her element in this video and I am LOVING IT.

I was just saying earlier today as I was talking on my Ustream to some folks that this song has really grown on me. It’s just a fun, catchy dance song that is in the vein of Janet Jackson ‘09 and it perfectly fits. This video shows just that — an effortless Janet smiling, being herself (which is naturally sexy IMO) and showing how it’s done.

The dancing is great, and she looks great. It was a very relaxed yet hype feeling that I got from this video. Like, the dancing was all in sync but slightly dragging to give each dancer a little breadth for individuality.

Janet looks AMAZING. Seriously. All the outfits compliment her but especially the one she’s wearing during the main group choreo scence — smash-status! So basically, I’m loving this. It’s perfect. It all works. Go Janet!

Janet Jackson’s Heartbreaking Recounting Of Michael’s Death

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Nov 18, 09

Janet sat down with “Good Morning America: today and chatted about how she has been coping with her brother’s death and her play by play of how it went down for her. The full interview airs tonight with Robin Roberts on ABC, and I am definitely trying to see it. I love Janet and it’s just so sad to see her especially have to go through this.

      I’m still just sad.

In other news, her greatest hits set is about to drop soon. The video for “Make Me” is also supposed to air tonight, so tune in.

Janet Jackson Had A Lot Of Hits, Didn’t She?

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Oct 16, 09

Janet is dropping another greatest hits set, this time though, it has some new joints that haven’t been released and features of course some of her most recent joints. I guess it has been about what…14 years since Design of a Decade came out, so it’s time. Comes out Nov. 17th. I’mma cop it.

I’m excited that “Scream” will be on there, as well as “The Best Things (In Life Are Free)” — I LOVE that song with Luther! And “All For You” is another fave — they could’ve left off “Call on Me” with Nelly and swapped it for “Son of a Gun” with Missy, but that’s just me. Tracklist after the jump!

New Music: Janet Jackson – “Make Me”

Written by The IPS in New Music & Reviews on Sep 14, 09

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

Janet Jackson – “Make Me” [Download]

Janet Jackson “gave” her fans a “special gift” after her performance on the VMA’s in her MJ tribute, via Twitter of course, in the form of the new leaked song “Make Me”.

A more traditional return to dancey affairs, Janet’s song is light on sexual overtones, heavy panting and dark imagery this time around. With lyrics like:

Baby can you move, make me groove,
Show me what you do, make me move,
Baby can you move, make me groove,
Show me what you do, make me move,
      Baby make me… (Source)

Janet’s all in a light-hearted mood. It’s unknown who the track was produced by, but if you sign up for Janet’s mailing list, you get the link to listen to the song. It’s low quality of course, but will this be on a new upcoming album? Janet’s rumored to be working with Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, so let’s hope that they return to a funkier yet updated funk/dance/pop version of Janet’s classic sound that has seemingly gotten away from her.

Written by The IPS in Blogs, Videos on Jul 8, 09

HAHA I own this soundtrack and this is one of my favorite movies (Mo’ Money) ever. But Janet and Luther turned in this and it was great. They weren’t in the video, but the Wayans are acting a fool and umm…

Are Janet & JD Already Married? I Doubt It…

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Apr 6, 09

      Janet & JD

I mean, I really don’t care. In this world of shacking up and rushing into marriage…I just hope that they are happy if they are and I am glad they didn’t give into the need to have a circus fiasco!

We know Janet is uber-private anyway, but I just refuse to believe that JD can keep a secret that big LOL. It’d be all over Youtube!

Apparently on T.I.’s show Road to Redemption, T.I. let slip that Janet was a married woman. Honestly, I think it was a slip. For all intents and purposes, she might AS WELL be married. I think that’s what T.I. meant…

On the last episode of T.I’s Road to Redemption, T.I. slipped up and said that Janet Jackson and JD are already married:

During a scene where he visited a class of elementary students, he allowed them to ask questions. Here’s how it went down:

Little boy: If you had choice between Mary J. Blige or Janet Jackson, who would you marry?

T.I: Well they’re both married, so I wouldn’t marry a married woman. (Source)

Classic Flashback: Michael & Janet Jackson – “Scream”

Written by The IPS in Blogs, Videos on Nov 7, 08

You know what….DAMN!!! Sorry, but I forgot how hot this video was. I mean, really, the dancing, the song in general, the effects, the graphics, EVERYTHING. LOVE IT. Sorry Sweet Minty Jesus.

This song popped in my head with the election and everything going on. Then Jermaine up and fake announced for a check that the Jacksons were getting back together + Michael and Janet too, and I got faux happy for two seconds.

But you know what? This is probably one of my favorite MJ songs, and him and Janet together SMASHED this mess! It worked SO well as far as the end product is concerned.

Since Janet has officially stopped giving a f*** about her tour, and MJ is “cash-poor”, I really think those two should do something. Forget Greasy Jermaine and them other knikkas. OK, maybe get Rebbie in for some background vocals, and drag 3T out the mothballs ROFL.

But HOW HOT WOULD ANOTHER JANET & MICHAEL COLLABO BE?

Watching this too just really drives home how much everybody copies MJ and his sister and their whole family legacy. Wow.

Forget The Pleasure Principle, We In A Recession!

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Oct 20, 08

Haven’t been able to afford the gas, parking, concessions and tickets to go see Janet live? Haven’t liked Janet since “janet.”? Well, Tha Feedback got you covered. Here’s a pretty decent quality video of 6 songs (snippets but a lil longer) from her show in Washington, DC. Songs on the video are ”Come Back To Me”, “Again”, “Nasty”, “Together Again”, “Doesn’t Really Matter” and “That’s the Way Love Goes” at the Verizon Center in Washington, DC on October 15th, 2008.

That ponyhawk thing is killing me Janet LOL. Despite all her cancellations, there are TOO many negroes in D.C. to be cancelling. That’s like trying to sell fried chicken dinners and NOT going to the hood. You gotta go to the hood!

Oh and the dude “praise dancing” on “Again”? LOL had me in stitches!

Rodney Says Janet’s Left Def Jam…

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Sep 22, 08

I can’t afford a Janet Jackson CD, much less a Janet concert, but I am sure it was hot. Super-producer Rodney Jerkins (and one of my all-time favorites) speaks on Janet and says that she’s left Def Jam. Color me surprised wearing Andre 3000’s dance pants.

I for one am going to have to agree, because “Feedback” was the jam! I loved that song. But from the moment the video dropped, it was D.O.A. Not to say it was just the video, but I think that played a huge part. Some would say because the song was wack, but I’m sorry, I hear that joint, I dance.

Though “Discipline” wasn’t a slam-dunk through and through, it had some great songs and handled better, it definitely could have sold more records. I think Janet should just start on her own joint, minimize her costs and focus on making music that A) suits her, B) brings in NEW fans, and C) keeps old fans happy. Tall order, but hey, if Janet can’t do it, no one can. She should just skip the major labels all together, it’s 2008. I can’t believe that even at this phase, she doesn’t have more artistic control. That’s crazy, though she was coming from that failed Virgin deal, which I am sure L.A. Reid was not trying to let happen again.

And Rodney, it was them a** beatings that Papa Joe handed out that kept them dancing LOL. I love Mr. Jerkins though! Can I get an interview?!
