    • Jaheim Is Classy And Soulful In “Find My Way Back”

Written by The IPS in Videos on May 6, 10

In the the latest video from his Another Round album, Jaheim hands the reigns of his video career (and virtual heart) over to Regina King, who directs and co-stars in this video as the female lead. A simple story that a lot of people can relate to — lovers and friends drifting apart because of life. The storyline is basic, but what takes front and center here is the song itself.

Jaheim’s brand of soul stands out amongst his other counterparts these days, though you don’t seem to hear his music much on the radio. This song hearkens back to a simple, more emotional time when R&B really had some “blues” to it. Could you imagine this song with live instruments? Sign me up.

However, Jaheim is not a very good live performer, and you can even see this in the video. Regina King appears natural while Jaheim seems to be trying WAY too hard to keep up. Despite that, he has turned a classier leaf in his seemingly “rough yet smooth” exterior, and vocally the recorded song is excellent.

Did I mention how much I love Regina King?!

Did you buy this latest album? Are you a fan?

      Dreadful Jaheim. Just Dreadful.

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Apr 13, 10

I don’t know what was worse, Wendy’s flubbed interview or Jaheim’s flubbed performance. He really is a terrible live performer LOL. Just…yeah. And the background vocals weren’t helping that much either. But it was really amazing how Wendy just proceeded to mess up his bio and over-exaggerate it and he was like, “Well, no actually…”.

They played that “go to commercial” music REAL quick, didn’t they?

LOL @ her throwing in his weed arrest last week. I can’t.

Jaheim Is All Stiff Moves And Weird Faces On Mo’Nique…

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Feb 16, 10

Mo’Nique makes EVERYONE feel like a million dollars don’t she? LOL!

Jaheim has always been a really bad live performer and I see that this hasn’t changed on his 5TH ALBUM. Like, seriously, #5. He has been around way too long to still be showing such bad mic control, awkward faces, lack of rhythm, I mean EVERYTHING.

Everytime he grabbed his in-ear monitors I laughed.

On the flip side, he didn’t sound bad. At all LOL, I think his live vocals got better, but at the same time, I was a little skeptical that he was even singing live because he kept moving and holding the microphone so far away from his face! LOL, I just don’t get this dude. As long as the voice sounds good though, we’ll bite. I can’t even halfway enjoy it though with all those scary faces he kept making. He looked constipated, then scared, then hot, then tired, then ready to go, then excited, then sad, then happy, then relieved…too much.

Another Round is in stores now!

All Drinks Are On Jaheim For “Another Round” On Latest Album

Written by The IPS in New Music & Reviews on Feb 11, 10

      Jaheim – Another Round
      2 stars out of 5

With the “music” (and I use the term loosely) that is on the radio today, many of us like to take a nostalgic look back for better music. An easy place to look is the 90’s. Times were simpler then and music just seemed to be vibrant.  However, there is a difference between creating an album that pays homage to the 90’s era and an album that sounds dated — Another Round is the latter of the two. Jaheim has always had an adult contemporary R&B sound that at times boarder on Philly “Quiet Storm.” This album doesn’t tread any new ground, and for the life of me it sounds like a 2010 remake of a 90’s Christopher Williams album (and not in a good way), although Christopher Williams’ 2001 release Real Men Do was pretty solid…and yes I’m the only one in the world who bought it.

Jaheim Is Determined Not To Leave “Without You”

Written by The IPS in Videos on Feb 8, 10

You know what this reminds me of? That Angie Stone song “I Ain’t Feeling You” — because it has like this looped soul sample that just sounds kind of cheap even though the voice over it isn’t THAT bad. It just FEELS sub-par production wise, if that makes sense.

Jaheim — as smooth as his voice is sometimes, and as decent of R&B songs that he turns out on occasion, his personality is like a puppet with no hand in it. Or should I say a muppet? LOL cause I remember my friends used to say he looked like a Muppet. AND I’m sorry, he doesn’t deliver live, and that’s all I can think about when I see/hear his music. I can’t WAIT for him to go on the Mo’Nique show….cause I don’t see him on Letterman, LOL, but I may be wrong.

The video itself is about as boring as the song tends to be, though the addition of Jadakiss livens it up a bit. It’s essentially Jaheim looking awkward with a couple of video girls.

His album Another Round comes out tomorrow, February 9th.
