    • TV News: Omarion to ABDC, Steve to Family Feud & Yolanda/Donnie To Sunday Best

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Jan 22, 10

Omarion is set to join the judge’s panel on MTV’s “America’s Best Dance Crew”.

When the latest crop of crews takes the dance floor for the fifth season of MTV’s “America’s Best Dance Crew,” they’ll see a new face at the judges’ table: R&B singer Omarion has been named the newest judge on the dancing-competition series.

“He is an accomplished dancer, artist and actor who knows what makes a good dance crew performance,” said Liz Gateley, senior vice president of series development for MTV. “We are very excited for him to join Lil Mama and JC Chasez as our third judge.”

“I’m so excited to be a judge on MTV’s ‘America’s Best Dance Crew,’ ” Omarion said in a statement. “Dancing and performing is what I do and being a judge on this show will allow me to give creative feedback to the newest and hottest dancers on the rise.” (Source)

After the dismal sales of his latest album clocked in at about 22K, this is a good thing. He can join Lil’ Mama in the list of singers on that show who have had dismal sales LOL. As much as I like J.C. Chasez, he fits on that list…

On another channel, Steve Harvey is joining “Family Feud” as the new host. Radio, TV, man, does Steve ever sleep?

Lastly, Yolanda Adams and also singer Donnie McClurkin will be added to the judges panel of BET’s Sunday Best. The new season premieres on Easter Sunday (April 4th) at 9PM. That’s a whole lot of opinion in one episode — it’s gonna be tough moving that program along LOL.

Snoop Looks Like The Scarecrow From “The Wiz” To Me…

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Jan 8, 10

Snoop Dogg steps out with a not-so-fresh press, no curl on CBS’ new show “I Get That A Lot”. Essentially well known stars “disguise” themselves as regular folks and when folks say “You look like _____”, well you get the rest.

Snoop did his turn as a parking attendant. I lol’ed hard when the dude said “He could park my car anyday!” Was that shade? Dude meant that. LOL.

I think having Snoop do this was pretty easy — they need to go for someone harder. Maybe Jamie Foxx. Or Susan Boyle. She could work at a pancake house in ATL. Or at Lane Bryant. HAHAHA.

Hark The Return of Sisqo From The Brink of Irrelevancy!

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Jan 4, 10

Sisqo has signed on to the latest edition of the UK’s “Celebrity Big Brother 2010″. So, I am guessing that reunion effort and their reality show on Peachtree.tv in ATL yielded no results?

I mean, say what you want, but Sisqo used to be a beast vocally. I see how he handily worked his way around all the money notes in this performance, but shoot, he was the Chris Brown and all them of our time. And I don’t care if you judge me, Sisqo went in on “Incomplete”. That song was hot and one of my favorite songs of the 90’s. I promise you that!

But this reality show mess — anything for a check. His performance was a bit rusty and wow, was he doing “The Jerk”?! OR, was that his same old choreography and it was the jerk back then!? So many questions!

And was his hair still blond or was he bald? It was hard to tell…

Oh well, nikkas gotta eat. And we need something to watch on TV. LOL! Still, overall, I CANNOT.

Recession Testimonies: Coolio Performs For $3G’s…and Some Chicken.

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Sep 1, 09

      Coolio

Somebody get their uncle, please! Coolio is performing having a book club having a rent party at some deli in Colorado for $3,000, a bucket of chicken and some Patron. And it’s not that low-brow, Church’s Chicken mess either! KFC OR HIGHER SNITCHES! This is not a hoax either folks.

The Deli Zone, on Ken Pratt Boulevard, has offered live music since last year. The restaurant’s new concert room comes with the advantages of a proper stage and sound system.

The Coolio show will be the venue’s biggest by far, and the rapper’s appearance will be the city’s first celebrity performance in recent memory.

“My hope is that Coolio is going to give us … some recognition,” said Deli Zone owner Jeremy King. “I’m hoping to get a cool reputation as a cool place to come see music.”

Longmont has Macias to thank for the engagement. He said he proposed the show to Coolio’s manager after noticing the rapper was scheduled to play at The Goose in Boulder the evening before. Coolio asked for $3,000, a bucket of chicken and a bottle of Petrón (he likes the Silver variety), and took the gig. (Source)

I need everyone to go to iTunes right now and buy a copy of “Gangsta’s Paradise”. Save a chicken, feed one of Coolio’s kids. And while you are at it and feeling charitable, go buy a Hammer song. “Pumps N’ The Bumps” if you’re feeling RANDY! I’m sure he could use that $.20! Remember, charity begins at home!

Chicken ‘N Beer…has Coolio been listening to Ludacris lately? LOL such a prophet, that Christopher Bridges is.

Jay-Z Is Not Just A Rapper, He’s Also A Model.

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Sep 1, 09

And the blitz begins. You mad? Of course the album leaked already, I hear it’s Timbaland’s fault?

In any case, a review will drop when the album drops by our new hip-hop writer, FessaJ, whom ya’ll seemed to disagree with on that “Forever” song by Drake. VIVA LA DEBATE!

Here’s the order of the album covers as recreated in the clip. And Rhapsody, really!? Who really buys stuff off of Rhapsody! FAIL. Whatever gets the word out though.

      1. Reasonable Doubt
      2. The Blueprint
      3. Vol. 2…Hard Knock Life
      4. The Dynasty: Roc La Familia
      5. The Black Album
      6. Kingdom Come
      7. The Blueprint 2: The Gift and the Curse
      8. Vol. 3… Life and Times of S. Carter
      9. In My Lifetime, Vol. 1
      10. American Gangster
      11. The Blueprint 3

I think I own half of those, probably all of them at some point, but I’ve lost them along the way. This is a dope idea though, definitely creative. If his album isn’t good though, you know his marketing and promo will be. You can always count on Sean Carter for some over-the-top, big budget ish.

Goodie Mob Reunion? Really? I’m Down!

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Aug 13, 09

I guess he got tired of Danger Mouse eating pancakes with Prince or something. Danger Mouse does strike me as a bit off, but musical geniuses are usually.

So I guess The Lumberjacks (Khujo and T-Mo) and Big Gipp wasn’t making money like they thought they were going to. LOL remember “One Monkey Don’t Stop No Show”? I got to tell you, it kinda did…

Welcome back! I’ve always loved Cee-Lo ANYWAY, but Goodie Mob had some joints back in the day…

Wanda + Shenehneh = Box Office GOLD!

Written by The IPS in Blogs, Movies on Jun 30, 09

No seriously, I’d pay for this. On nostalgia alone. Because they were the firsts to do it and they were ALWAYS worth the moments I’d sit and watch Martin crack a FOOL on TV!

And Jamie Foxx…goodness, how dope would this be? Not even a full movie, but a lil-mini movie or something, a short. To air on Fox or something during something. I’m down!

Add Madea and Geisha and it’d be the biggest coonfest of the century but it’d be funny as hell! TV One probably needs some viewers, they should get on that stat. BTW, this aired during the BET Awards ‘09, courtesy of host Jamie Foxx.

I got nothing else to say! I mean, I peed a little I laughed so hard!

PLEASE watch this video, then check out Charlie Murphy’s site: http://www.getyourbasketballon.com. He claims to be the person who motivated Michael Jordan. CLASSIC! It’s all apart of a campaign he is doing with Nike, and wow, it’s hilarious.

In tenth grade, I beat out MJ for the last spot on our varsity basketball team, igniting a fire that inspired him to greatness. Since then I have motivized countless people with my inspirational DVD series and workshops. Now, with the launch of my revolutionary website, I’m finally able to motivate the world, including Canada.

Swizz Beatz Causes Folks To Get Their “Fame” On In The Club

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Apr 28, 09

“Last week, professional dancers surprised club goers in four major markets when they performed an original “UP/DOWN” dance routine to the new Swizz Beatz song. Following the dance, consumers were handed an all-black business card that directed them to the Hennessy Black website, where they could check out the new Swizz Beatz video and original song, drink recipes and in the coming weeks, videos of consumers creating their own “Up/Down” dance.”

“These clips will also be posted to the Hennessy Black YouTube channel, where consumers will be able to vote for their favorites from each city. The most popular dancers will be flown to LA, where Hype Williams will film them and cut them into a new version of the video.” (Via press release)

I was WONDERING why all them nikkas straight bust out in sync in the club! I thought MTV’s Taking to The Stage was shooting in my town! I was about to get my Tyler on and hit 1st position!

What ya’ll think about the song? Swizz Beatz always making you do the hip-hop “Simon Says Hokey Pokey” but hey, a check is a check. He got to feed Mashonda AND Alicia Keys these days.

And Hype Williams is really getting a big FAIL from me these days. I can only imagine the kind of buffoonery he will phone in for THIS. Music has become so “secondary”…

True story: I’ve had Henn once in my life. If I remember correctly, that was more than enough. Share your favorite story LOL.

Jazmine Sullivan, Cotton Spokeswoman; Common, Funk Spokesman.

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Apr 23, 09

This girl could sing the phonebook and I would buy it, that’s on my mama! Jazmine Sullivan is trying to keep it moving career-wise with this drop.

She’s signed on to pitch cotton for their “Fabric of Our Lives” commercials — haven’t heard this theme song in a while, it’s good to see how she puts her spin on it. Now to decipher the lyrics…

Common is selling…something. OH a cologne! Has he stopped rapping now after the disappointment of “Universal Mind Control” and is just focusing on things that really pay for his hats, scarves and funky glasses?
