Consequence has dropped a new video for “Comic Book Flow” off the mixtape Movies On Demand 3 which is due out August 19, 2011. If you’ve been paying attention to Consequence – why would you? – you would know that he claims that this is going to be the most controversial thing to come out of hip-hop in a while and promises to call out Kanye West and Pusha T to name a few. Boo-hoo.
Honestly, the only reason why I am posting this is because I think that this video is super slick. It kept my attention enough as a recovering comic book nerd to keep me from hitting X, and you all know how much I love to do that. To address the music: the beat thumps, but I don’t think the lyrics matter at all. I have a hard time with rap lyrics because I often find them wafer-like – light, fluffy, tasty for a minute, but after the minute passes you’re still hungry. This isn’t true for everything of course, but you have to really move me if I am going to buy/download your album. (I’m not talking to you Big Sean. That was an accident!)
