    • Who’s Buying Tickets For Ciara’s “Ride”?

Written by The IPS in Videos on Apr 21, 10

      Well, ok then.

Ciara is back with her first official video from her new upcoming album Basic Instinct, which is supposedly this summer. “Ride” features Ludacris, some chopped and screwed-ness, and a slow bounce beat that Ciara coos over. The video…well…the video features booty. And more booty. And then some thighs!

And now, I’m not complaining, because Ms. Harris is a beautiful woman. But…that’s all we get? Some dancing? Sure, she nails it, and looks great doing it, but Ciara has been around too long (surprisingly) to be so…predictable. Even the choreography is standard Ciara fare. I would have expected something more visually stimulating (wait…no pun intended) to counteract this slow, mid-tempo slightly overlong song.

Instead we get all CiCi booty, all the time. And her body is CRAZY.

I know one thing, this sure doesn’t need to be on 106 & Park….Lord help these little girls and their ho-ish ways…

So Ciara, You Hood Now? #byefelicia

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Apr 19, 10

Either Ciara’s a beauty queen or trying to come for Bran’Nu’s head….either way we still don’t care. Her new song with Ludacris isn’t really anything to be walking around being all cocky about.

      Where’s that movie?

      Ciara – Ride (Feat. Ludacris)

Is Ciara coming for me though ya’ll? “You can go and write ya blog, I don’t need your feedback” in that new song of hers?! ASK ABOUT US! LOL, kidding. But it was fun to think about.

I think Ciara needs to go back to the basics — kitchen-sink weaves, writing on top of a car and Jazze Pha looking plump and happy in the background…I don’t know. Actually, I really don’t think I’d notice if she went away…

All New Music Everythang: Ciara, Nicki Minaj, Christina Aguilera, Dirty Money & Hal Linton

      Ciara – Speechless (Feat. The-Dream)

Hell to the hell to the hell to the no! There are no “goodies” musically, vocally or melodically anywhere in this song! The-Nightmare should just take the L and go be baby daddy. Ciara should keep selling shoes. The world would keep on spinning without their music, seriously. I just don’t understand how this pulsating caterwauling passes for singles or singing. Who thinks this is hot?! Please exit via the Big Red X up to your right.

It really gets unbearable around the 3:00 mark when their two voices are tripping over each other in the contest to see which could make my ears bleed the greatest. Only thing missing is Cassie doing ad-libs and Diddy singing “Angels” via Skype. I cannot. I’m speechless alright! The hook alone makes me want to choke a small kitten. Ugh.

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

      Nicki Minaj – “Massive Attack”

      Well………………..

      The beat is hot though!

I am convinced that Onika AKA Nicki Minaj just spouts whatever comes to mind that kind of rhymes. So many questions though — why do they have these faux British accents? I mean, seriously. It’s a bit ridiculous. Nicki Minaj has a couple of “singing” parts that she sounds good on, how ironic. Sean Garrett shouldn’t feature on anything — he drags this down. And Tom Toms are Tommy guns, as in submachine guns, right? Other than that, I’m lost. I’m sure this video (with Amber Rose) which is set to drop this week will be EPIC or something. I guess she couldn’t rhyme any reindeers with “Massive Attack”, thank God. LOL!

Christina Aguilera – “Not Myself Tonight”

No ma’am this ain’t it. Christina Aguilera sings too well for these GaGa-esque shenanigans. Songs about kissing a girl maybe? Who are you, Katy Perry’s auntie? Lady GaGa’s older cousin? Christina Aguilera’s latest opus Bionic is headed to stores in June, and “Not Myself Tonight” is the first single. It was produced by Polow Da Don and co-written by Ester Dean (“Drop It Low”). Hmm, well, it’s certainly over-produced to match her over-singing and it’s just too much. Too, too much.

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

Dirty Money – “Hello, Good Morning” Feat. T.I.

Well, this song is certainly danceable. Now strip out ALL the vocals except the hook and swap out Diddy’s vocals for Dawn’s on that hook and I’d be sold. No seriously, Dirty Money just needs to be downsized to Dawn and it’d be a LOT more believable than its current incarnation. T.I.’s verse is neither here nor there to me, it could also have been left off. I’m just glad it ain’t Nicki Minaj…

      Hal Linton – “Mind Control”

Hal Linton first came onto my radar during the Super Bowl I think in that Motown tribute they did. He has an interesting voice, and I think he might have something if they can get him to breakout like they did Melanie Fiona (he’s on the same label). However, this song sounds like Jazmine Sullivan “Bust Your Windows” Redux, and that is going to instantly turn some folks off. Coincidentally, it was produced by Salaam Remi, who produced Jazmine’s hit as well. It’ll be interesting to see how they try and market this dude.

Beyonce + Ciara + Motel 6 = Happy Monday Morning!

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Nov 30, 09

Please blame @jervae on Twitter for this ROFL! OMG, I cannot!!!! I died 20x over just reading the description!

“Backed by 2 dancers and a Walkman hooked up to computer speakers, Ciara delivered extraordinarily off-key performances of all 2 of her #1 Billboard-topping singles “Goodies” and “Promise” and entertained the crowd with an hour-long medley of her biggest Billboard-bottoming singles.”

Someone clearly has too much time on their hands and I PROMISE you it ain’t me. But this right here…*logs off life for 2.33 minutes*

Music Video: Ciara – “Work” Feat. Missy Elliott

Written by The IPS in Videos on Jun 23, 09

Ciara turns in another dance extravaganza for her latest single from Fantasy Ride, “Work”. Never one to rest on the words of her haters, she twurks out the cheeks and gets her high fashion couture on in this clip.

Featuring Missy Elliott (I mean, WHERE THE HELL IS MISSY’S ALBUM!?) and her shiny suit pants or whatever the hell she is wearing, Ciara turns this into an exercise video. Seriously.

In the song Missy says something about “this song is for the clubs” — umm…the kids are going to love this but I can’t see this being played at like, a R&B/urban joint, ya know?

Ciara definitely looks the part, but again, “Work” is not strong enough to me to make a last impression. This might get some play on the charts though, but how much are you really gonna spin this in a hip-hop club?

What do you think of Ciara’s new single? I’m a little 50/50 but I like the whole construction yard/outdoor look.

Live Performances: Ciara Does “Love Sex Magic” on SNL

Written by The IPS in Blogs on May 11, 09

I guess Justin realized the outrage and “explicitness” of the original video and decided to play it safe behind the Rhodes LOL. Or whatever he is playing.

Or maybe Ciara didn’t want her moment tainted since he was already hosting the show? Or maybe NBC wanted to prevent any potential CBS/Super Bowl fines if something went wrong…

Ciara is dang flexible that is for sure, and her little tribute to James Brown was cool…and interesting. Other than that, this song/performance fell even flatter with Justin opting to get his Michael McDonald on over in the corner.

That ponytail was something else though, and I am going to avoid any comparisons to other artists because it would just be redundant!

Chrisette Vs. Ciara, Who Will Win?

Written by The IPS in Blogs on May 7, 09

      Chrisette Vs. Ciara

Who's Album Did You or Will You Buy? Ciara or Chrisette Michele?

      View Results

      Loading ... Loading ...

Both Ciara’s & Chrisette Michele’s albums dropped this week. They both could be vying for the number 1 spot.

Me personally, I hope Chrisette wins, because so far her album is chock full of WIN. I will be doing a review this weekend if I can squeeze it in. Ciara…well, I will probably do a review of that alongside the other for posterity.

WHICH did you buy? With all of the Ciara leaks and failed singles, her album to me was DOA. Chrisette’s “Epiphany” has been a growing beast out of the gate…

The latest albums from Chrisette Michele and Ciara are on track to debut high on the Billboard 200 chart next week — both with a shot at a No. 1 bow.

Industry prognosticators suggest both Michele’s “Epiphany” (Def Jam) and Ciara’s “Fantasy Ride” (LaFace) will sell over 70,000 copies in their first week of release. With the Mother’s Day holiday on Sunday (May 10), both could see a bump in sales over the weekend due to mom-inspired gift-shopping. Additionally, Ciara is slated to perform on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” on May 9.

Ciara’s last release, 2006′s “The Evolution,” started at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 338,000 in the thick of the Christmas shopping season, while Michele’s freshman effort “I Am” debuted and peaked at No. 29 with 27,000 in 2007. (Source)

However, who in the world would buy their mother a Ciara CD for Mother’s Day!? ROFL I don’t see that happening. I wish I would come up in my mama’s house with some “Fantasy Ride”. She’d toss the dirt over my grave.

PS I heard that $2.99 special got extended…is that true? I got mine already though…

Live Performances: Ciara on “Regis & Kelly”

Written by The IPS in Blogs on May 4, 09

Ciara performed on Live With Regis & Kelly this morning — she killed (in a good way or bad way, you decide!) “Never Ever”.

No Jeezy and I guess Justin couldn’t be bothered to come for “Love Sex & Magic”?

This song is just so wamp-worthy to me though she really tries to make it interesting. Props to her for that.

I made mention of her wearing sunglasses indoors being foolish this morning and a Ciara stan called me a “fag” and proceeded to stan their way into hell even further, but I blocked them. Is it that serious!?

They act like I talked her about tepid 1-2 step turn out and the dancers looking all awkward doing a sexy dance on a morning show! Let me have my coffee before you toss the hoe-stroll-moves at me, THANKS!

Sneak Peek of Ciara’s Artwork for “Fantasy Ride”

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Apr 17, 09

      Ciara Artwork

Just a sneak peek but this “Nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah BATMAN!” inspired artwork is like, slightly confusing. I get it, but I don’t.

I almost feel like she isn’t really COMMITTED to it, like, say a Lady GaGa is.

Oh well, her album went from 3 discs to one, she’s dropped a plethora of singles, and I just can’t get into Justin’s blatant black woman fetish LOL. I hope to Sweet Minty Jesus that she comes out shaking her shimmy in a 48K Gold bustier and panties made out of diamonds because that is the only way I see her hitting platinum! I think I was the only that liked “Go Girl” but mostly for the video version w/ “it’s CiCi and T-Pain / I’m a go girl I’m finna do my thang!” Hot part LOL.

Ciara was working it on America’s Next Top Model. But…who wears Southpole? Isn’t she the spokeswoman for Southpole? The only place I see Southpole is in JC Penney’s and the swap meet/flea market. WAMP.

Album Covers: Ciara’s “Fantasy Ride” Alternate Cover/Track List

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Apr 6, 09

      Ciara Alt Cover

      1. “Ciara to the Stage”
      2. “Love Sex Magic” featuring Justin Timberlake
      3. “High Price” featuring Ludacris
      4. “Turntables” featuring Chris Brown
      5. “Like a Surgeon”
      6. “Never Ever” featuring Young Jeezy
      7. “Lover’s Thing” featuring The-Dream
      8. “Work” featuring Missy Elliott
      9. “Pucker Up”
      10. “G is for Girl (A-Z)”
      11. “Keep Dancin’ on Me”
      12. “What’s Your Name”
      13. “I Don’t Remember”

The tracklist for Ciara’s 3rd album was released on Amazon. Peep it and also check the alternate cover (spotted at TGJ) above.

She looks like a super villain that Halle Berry would have fought in Catwoman, I can’t. Overall, both of the albums mock-ups and final versions are a mess. I just think this whole thing should be CTRL + ALT + DEL’ed into the record label bin and started over again. Kinda like how Monica did All Eyez On Me, and then actually put out After The Storm.

And what happened to the 3 disc musical journey? ROFL I guess she realized she ain’t Prince and we can’t stand 3 discs of her. At all.

Half of these songs have already leaked…good night and God speed! I won’t be purchasing already.
