    • “If I Were A Boy” Meets Nashville Via Reba McEntire — I Always Thought This Could Go Country!

Written by The IPS in Blogs on May 26, 10

OK, you can’t tell Reba NOTHING with her delay LOL!! All she needed was a Beyoncé’s wind turbine and she would have been ON it, Creole-style.

Reba McEntire, the country legend that she is put a Southern drawl and tone on Beyoncé’s hit “If I Were a Boy” for Country Music Television’s “Unplugged” series. If you are vaguely familiar with Reba, check out my favorite Reba song, “Fancy”. Them country singers SURE can tell a story, I promise.

Friday Foolery: Liza Minnelli’s Cover of Single Ladies Has Snatched My Soul + 50 Tyson…

Written by The IPS in Blogs on May 21, 10

I don’t even know what to say! WHAT TO DO!? WHAT TO THINK!? HOW DO I PROCESS THIS!?

And if you make it to the end, the modulations?! ROFL…

Liza…sister, you are a bold one for this.

This is going to be on the “Sex And The City 2″ soundtrack. For real. Like, no joke.

So, who going to cremate me today? Please have 50 Tyson sweep up the ashes and put them in the gold-plated urn I got from Wal-mart. Thanks!

      He said…”And I’m sweet sixteen…and next year I will be…”

It took him a COOL minute to remember that 17 comes after 16. He covered it up with a “REEEEEEMIX!” I’m headed off this planet. Please, don’t give your kids cameras if they are special needs or not capable of using them properly….I didn’t want to laugh but I can’t help it!!

B.B. Homemaker Has Murdered Sasha Fierce In “Why Don’t You Love Me”

Written by The IPS in Videos on May 4, 10

Beyonce’ has randomly (to us at least) put out a video for her song “Why Don’t You Love Me”, which was a #1 dance hit for her actually. I’m assuming that is what made her want to shoot a video for it — that and being bored maybe? Though, really, if you are Beyonce’ Knowles-Carter, just because you are not IN the public eye doesn’t mean that you aren’t working.

She stars as B.B. Homemaker, who has clearly been drinking after a long, hard days HOUSEwork and is feeling a little upset & remorseful about all that she does for her man and yet, he still doesn’t love her. She runs down the laundry list of all that she does while shaking her goodies and otherwise just looking great in this 4+ minute clip.

At first I had said it looked like she took the leftover remnants of her “Telephone” video day and shot a video, but I doubt that. Melina, long time Beyonce’ collaborator, does the visuals for this clip, and I love how the camera work, lighting and treatment of the picture are a homage back to the whole 1960′s kind of female empowerment movement. This video is a random addition to the Beyonce’ videography canon, but I’m sure it makes plenty of sense to her. I don’t hate it!

“Why Don’t You Love Me” Asks Beyonce’. Cause You Are Always Here, We Respond…

Written by The IPS in Blogs on May 3, 10

I saw on Twitter someone tweeted “I miss Beyonce’‘” and see, that Creole magic, mixed with the #illuminati monitoring the Internets, and this is what happens.

We get a Beyonce’ teaser video for her song “Why Don’t You Love Me”. In this clip, she’s wearing her leftover makeup and lashes and “look” from the “Telephone” video with Lady GaGa, I promise you. I bet what happened is, since she had some free time leftover from that shoot, they snuck in another video, just in case we forget who she is. Ya’ll asked for it, and you got it!

Excuse me while I go listen to Ledisi LOL! Enjoy?

Live Performance Roundup! Did You Catch These?

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Apr 19, 10

Coachella (a huge music festival in Indio, CA) was this past weekend and Jay-Z brought out his wife Beyonce’ to sing the hook on “Forever Young”. Umm, do you see those boots? Wow. Only Bee. This performance was nice though, and she stayed in pocket. Very understated but she held it down in support of her man. Nice!

Drake, Chris Brown & more after the jump…

Classic Flashback: “Wishing On A Star” (Rose Royce, Cover Girls + Beyonce’)

Written by The IPS in Blogs,Videos on Apr 9, 10

Rose Royce’s original version of “Wishing On A Star”, the song originally produced by the great Norman Whitfield. This is a classic now, but when it was released, it wasn’t a chart smash. However, The Cover Girls did a version…

Alicia Shakes Her Shimmy With Her Sister Beyonce’ For “Put It In A Love Song” At MSG in NYC

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Mar 18, 10

Alicia’s tour stopped through NYC last night with spots from Melanie Fiona and Robin Thicke and of course, since we’ve yet to see their video collaboration for “Put It In A Love Song”, Beyonce’ came out to perform it real quick like live with her sister in Pop/R&B. And where Beyahweh travels, Jayhovah (Jay-Z) is never far behind — he (and Alicia’s boo Swizz Beats) came out later to perform “Empire State of Mind”. Sounds like it was a good show.

March 17th was the supposed release date for “Put It…” but clearly that came and went, so we will have to wait. Lady GaGa’s video still has everyone all a-twitter anyway — Beyonce is no fool. I’m gonna keep it 100 and just tell ya’ll I want to see Beyonce’ and Alicia shaking their shimmies, I really despise the song and it’s faux hood & Motown-ness. Sadly, it was one of the only uptempo songs from Alicia’s latest album.

Coverage: Lady GaGa’s “Telephone” Like You’ve Never Heard Before!

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Mar 18, 10

I seriously cannot stop listening to this, and I feel less dirty after watching this video than I do after watching the original. True story.

Pomplamoose do a LOT of covers (which they sell on iTunes as well) and I am sure I’ve posted them before, but just sit back and enjoy this one. PLEASE get into old boy playing that SHAKER! HE WENT IN! ROFL. Go for the gusto with your percussion instruments or go home indeed!

I love this. I mean, how dope is it? I’m sure it took work to get all this right, so hats off.

Yes, I’m weird. And different? Ain’t that why you are here right now though?

Lady GaGa & Beyonce’ Don’t Believe In Call Waiting; “Telephone” Video Is Here!

Written by The IPS in Videos on Mar 12, 10

Wow, I had to watch this video to take it all in! It’s epic in imagination and execution, but not really in its elements and creativity. Go with me.

First of all, this video is VERY Tarantino-esque. I mean, HELLO, the “Pussy Wagon” from “Kill Bill” is up in the place to be! I was just expecting Solange to get a cameo wearing an eye-patch with Baby Daniel strapped to her back high-kicking Lady GaGa’s mayo bottle out of her hand. LOL. Or…Vivica Fox.

That being said, Lady GaGa is EPIC and has fully embraced the powers of the Illuminati. Ole girl is naked, kissing womens, WEARING GLASSES THAT ARE MADE OF SMOKING CIGARETTES, I mean, the list goes ON and ON. What DIDN’T she cram into this 9.5 minute video?

Beyonce‘ plays her character, but yet and still, home girl is about as exciting as the yellow paint on the Pussy Wagon. Where GaGa is just naturally a huge presence, Beyonce’s duet and performance comes off as 2nd rate to GaGa’s. Sure, she’s not the star, but in something of this epic of a proportion, you need to carry your weight. I don’t feel Beyonce’ does that.

Tyrese makes a cameo as one of the many people murdered, and GaGa goes from riding and wearing a church hat to making sandwiches to getting pleasured by a Virgin Mobile phone.

We walk away from this video knowing that A) GaGa does NOT have a penis (thanks for clearing that up!), B) Beyonce’ really is just not a good “actress”, C) The Pussy Wagon is awesome, D) All the “kids” will be searching for those glasses, E) GaGa is sponsored by the Illuminati, F) This song goes harder to me now that I’ve seen the video, G) Beyonce’ choreo seemed a tad 2nd behind, H) GaGa is one of the next icons of this generation I) Madonna needs to not put out new music anytime because her old career has been reincarnated through GaGa, J) promo placements/partnerships are the new record label deal and K) THIS VIDEO IS EPIC, GEIGH, OVER THE TOP, and just everything that GaGa wanted to give to her fans and that they expected.

She’s gonna sell another 2 million downloads, watch.

Album Covers: #PhotoshopFAIL 101 with Lady GaGa & Beyoncé

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Feb 19, 10

LOL @ this cover. Beyoncé looks like she is trying to sell us some Girl Scout cookies in a homemade House of Dereon scout uniform and Lady GaGa looks like…well Lady GaGa. She has a phone for a hat! I mean, that’s some old COGIC church mother “I’mma wear my BEST hat because the BISHOP is coming! The Bishop is coming!” But the font and colors just look so corny. I get it is maybe supposed to be retro, but I can’t!

Lawd this is cracking me up. Is it just me?

The “Telephone” remixes will be out March 2nd according to GaGa’s website, and the video should be dropping any day now. I know the kids can’t WAIT.

That picture she used above was from the video:
