Dude has been dodging these charges something like FOREVER it feels like. He still has charges pending in Arizona too.
He’s still going to be free on bail until February 2010, so I’m sure by then that Rebirth rock album will drop w/ 2-3 vids in the can, plus the Young Money compilation album (which I heard he may bundle w/ Rebirth) and I wouldn’t be surprised if he goes in and tries to finish The Carter IV. We will see.

The performer, arguably rap’s most popular artist and one of pop’s biggest acts, previously had pleaded not guilty to illegal gun possession charges that carried at least 3 1/2 years in jail upon conviction. He remains free on bail while awaiting his February sentencing.
The somber-looking rapper did not speak as he left the courthouse with members of his entourage, who piled into four SUVs.
Police said a gun was found on his tour bus in Manhattan in 2007.
The rapper, born Dwayne Carter, won last year’s best rap solo performance Grammy for “A Milli.” His albums include “Tha Carter,” “Tha Carter II” and “Tha Carter III.”
His trial had been due to start Jan. 20. The judge had been holding a hearing on a debated DNA profiling technique used to tie the rapper to the gun.
Lil Wayne, 27, also is scheduled for trial in Arizona on felony drug possession and weapons charges. He has pleaded not guilty in that case, which arose from a January 2008 arrest at a U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint. (Source)

Da Brat (Shawntae Harris) is serving her three year sentence at Arrendale Federal Prison in Alto, Georgia. According to officials, the rapper was able to secure approval to host an event she’s coined “Showtime at Alto.â€While following the model of the legendary Apollo, Brat colleague and friend DJ Nabs will handle music duties. Da Brat brainstormed the showcase as an outlet for inmates to reveal their talents and hopefully cultivate them as a creative outlet during their sentences. Furthermore, she hopes those with lighter sentences may consider pursuing their talents further upon release.
If successful, Brat plans to push for prison authorities to make the showcase an annual event. (Source)

Actor Chris Tucker owes the state of California about $3.6 million in back taxes, according to the Detroit News, which has been putting Uncle Sam-owing celebs on blast for the past two weeks. The state reportedly filed a $3,594,409 lien against Tucker on June 24 for four years worth of unpaid taxes, the newspaper reported. (Source)

Alfamega, T.I.’s weed carrier/security/artist was also apparently involved with law enforcement.
Billed as the protégé of rapper/gun enthusiast T.I., Cedric “Alfamega” Zellars is a convicted felon whose songs brag about his status as an “original gangster” and contain de rigeur references to police tape, automatic weapons, and murder. Zellars, who records for T.I.’s Grand Hustle Entertainment, is a hulking 6′ 4″, calls himself “The Grand Hustle Muscle,” and proclaims, “I’m a real hood.” What he does not mention, though, is his prior work as a Drug Enforcement Administration informant who snitched out criminal cohorts and testified as a government witness at the trial of an Atlanta heroin trafficker. Court records show that Zellars began working with law enforcement officials after he was sentenced in September 1995 to 110 months in a federal gun case (Zellars, who had a prior felony robbery conviction, was collared for selling weapons to an undercover federal agent). Zellars “agreed to cooperate with authorities and was debriefed” about the criminal activity of several individuals.

Rapper DMX is serving time in the valley and we’re now learning that he may spend a lot more time behind bars!
DMX, also known as Earl Simmons, may be charged with felony aggravated assault.
He’s serving a 90 day sentence for several charges and was placed in lock down earlier this month.
FOX 10 has learned that while in lock down, Simmons apparently assaulted a Sheriff’s detention officer.
If convicted of these new charges, his probation could be revoked and he could be sentenced to 8 years in prison. (Source)

The court has spoken and OJ is going to jail ya’ll. He will probably be in on lockdown for the rest of his adult life. The Juice was sentenced to at least 15 years in prison, with possibility for parole in like, 9 years. DANG. Orenthal James is 61-years old. He will be at least 70 before he can even THINK about getting out.

It’s been a wild week for “Pimp Chronicles” comedian Katt Williams. First, there were false rumors over the weekend that he had died in a plane crash. Then, according to the New York Daily News, Williams spent most of Thursday in jail on weapons charges, but posted bail with just enough time to make it to his sold-out headlining gig at New York’s Carnegie Hall.
The paper reported that Williams, 37, was arrested early Thursday morning after police found his Mercedes bus and red Cadillac Escalade parked on Broadway. Police noticed that the SUV was missing a license plate and that three guns were in plain sight inside the vehicles. When Williams emerged from a nearby building, he told the cops that the vehicles were his, and the officers handcuffed him.
Eighteen hours after being arrested, the comedian posted $25,000 bond and was released right around the time he was supposed to hit the stage at Carnegie Hall. “Wearing baggy jeans and a satin shirt, [Williams] … spritzed himself with cologne and jumped into a black limo,” the paper reported. “Half an hour later, it screeched to a stop near the rear stage entrance on West 56th Street, and Williams, surrounded by bodyguards, jumped out and disappeared into the hall.” (Source)
