“Stop, and look, and you have found love….”
This refrain is hauntingly catchy, and you will walk away from this video repeating this in your head and mouthing it while you’re just sitting around. I promise.
Adrian Younge is a multi-instrumentalist renaissance man, who wears many hats. After garnering attention as an indie artist, he went on to score the majority of the Black Dynamite movie, and has had his hands in some of everything ever since. He struck upon the idea of doing a collaboration with William Hart of The Delfonics, and this single is a result of that pairing. “Stop And Look (And You Have Found Love)” is a mix of the old and the new, and is an imagining of what a Delfonics record might sound like in 2012.
The song is a testament to the timelessness of Soul music and its figures. William Hart makes an appearance and looks good, and it’s interesting to sing him in the visual amongst a group of hip-hop heads — 90′s hip-heads at that. I like this joint, and I look forward to hearing more of their pairing.
And of course, who didn’t love The Delfonics?
