Wow.
Now, I’ve been a fan of Jade Novah ever since her mixtape dropped (which you can still get here!) and someone tweeted me to check it out. Her covers of “Call Me Maybe/Domino”, “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun/I Wanna Dance With Somebody”, “Countdown”, and her original “Maniac” STAY in rotation over here. Such a great talent.
However, she’s kicked it up another notch so much that I have to give her her own post y’all. This girl is phenomenal. Her cover of Justin Bieber’s “Die In Your Arms” (which, I will admit, I already loved….) is dope. She flips it crazily into a 60′s sounding joint (and the accompanying visual is ALSO top notch quality) and makes it her own, as she’s always done with her covers. I’m a huge fan of hers and y’all should be too. Her producer is a beast as well — shouts to whoever is meticulously crafting all these beds and arrangements man.
Lowkey, that Justin Bieber goes…there’s about 5-6 songs that are so well written, even if he wasn’t singing them, they’d still be great. Glad to see Jade take on something but give it a whole other vibe and shelf life.
