If you’ve never seen a Tyler Perry play recently, then you may not have heard of my girl Támar. However, if you remember Prince’s “Beautiful, Loved, and Blessed” that was nominated for a Grammy from his 3121 album, then you may remember his female muse du jour of the then moment, Támar.
Támar is a Houston native and has spent her time in Los Angeles and beyond perfecting her gift, honing her craft, and working on life to put out the great music that she just released today on her new album, My Name Is Támar. A strong vocalist, actress (she starred in Tyler Perry’s “The Marriage Counselor” and was also in “Madea’s Big Happy Family”), songwriter, and all around amazing talent, Támar decided to do her album in her own way and on her own dime after leaving Prince and having her unreleased album Milk & Honey shelved. My Name Is Támar is the result of recording songs while on the road with Tyler’s plays, a testament to her hard work and perseverance.
The album is streaming above, so take a listen. The songs I suggest are “Love Speaks”, which the tempo on reminds you of a slow waltz, “Slow Down”, “You’ll Never Know”, which features American Idol and Sunday Best former contestant Jermaine Sellers, and “Heartbeat”.
If you want more info on Támar, hit her up on Twitter, or go to her official website at http://www.tamardavis.com. Tell her Tha Feedback sent ya!

Well Tha Feedback, I must say that this article took me by surprise. I am overwhelmed at how entities such as yourself are in the game of ‘helping.’ Regardless of what has been, I appreciate your seed of getting the word out about me and the project and this journey. So I wish you and Tha Feedback much success that lasts forever. Personally, Tamar!
