KeKe Wyatt! *90′s flashback for a moment*
I used to LOVE me some KeKe Wyatt. All the songs with Avant, Patti LaBelle covers and even her tepid debut album. The voice has been there, but not the material. And I think it’s another case of that tragic and vicious circle with “Who Knew?”, her first single in umpteen years.
After much RANDOM controversy, KeKe has gotten it together and gotten a new boo. That’s what this video/song is about. They walk down the street and they hug in a close-up shot.
That’s bout it.
I’m sure the video was done with as small of a budget as possible, but there are ways to do that without being so obvious. The song itself is nice, but it’s nothing too memorable upon first listen. KeKe’s very restrained and buttoned-up vocally in this song. I can’t wait to hear her unleash and let it loose, cause we’ve been waiting for her a long time (the few of us who loved her!).
Thoughts? Do you even remember KeKe Wyatt?

I agree that she’s vocally buttoned up in this song. I like it though and I think, honestly, the audience just isn’t there for a “let-looser” (see the choppy reaction to Monica’s new song).
It’s a sad day when you can honestly say people with vocal abilities a la Ciara are doing it big in the game. And today is a sad day.
I like the simplicity of the video. There wasn’t a hell of a lot they could do with it between a small budget and simple song (topic wise)

True @ASmtith, but I wanted here to be giving me 100% and I’m feeling like this video AND song are only giving me about 79% LOL. Ya know?

Not sure why you’re having ’90s flashbacks when chick came on the scene in 2001. #accuracy

this is a nice little ditty to listen to in the background. her vocals stay pretty tepid throughout. she sounds like keshia chante/ keshia chante sounds like her.

This song is fabulous and an artist doesn’t need to scream on every song. Can someone with a big voice be subtle sometimes without U all having to point it out like there is a problem?
This song sounds like Brandy wrote it and demoed it. It is everything! I know Brandy must love it. I really thought it was her writing.
I hope KeKe comes with some great material because the voice is amazing. Artist don’t have to scream and go crazy on every song to be impressive and give vocals.
I love this song!!!!!!!!!

I love this song and I love Keke’s singing. I agree that it’s not necessary to screan and do all that just to get someone to like it. You save all the adlibs and screaming to the live performances not for the video/album. Even thought she does give that on the album….so it’s the best of both worlds.
Also all video’s dont have to be all big budgeted and over done…It’s sad that we have gotten away from the simplicity of music by this overly produced music and videos…but thats what people have been fed so that was they are used to eating.
