  • Are You Trying To Figure Out Why Ke$ha Is On The Top Of The Charts With “Tik Tok” Too?

Written by FirstGentleman in Videos on Jan 4, 10

New comer Ke$ha (yes the dollar symbol is a part of her name) is making a big impact on the charts with her song “Tik Tok”. She’s part Lady Sovereign, part Fergie, and part Gwen Stefani. And although it seems as if that would be a great mix for the faux-cool-white-girl sound, it comes off like an annoying little sister (a similar artist aptly named Kid Sister).

I’m a little confused as to what Ke$ha actually does. She doesn’t quite sing or rap the song and I swear fo’ Gawd she looks like a 90’s drugged up Courtney Love in this video. P!nk should be giving her a mean side eye for this song and video because it’s eerily reminiscent of “Get The Party Started.”  I have some doubts about her longevity but tell me what YOU think!

[The IPS Note: That really IS Diddy at the beginning of the song. Random co-sign! And Ke$ha is also the hook singer from Flo-Rida's "Right Round" FYI. I don't condone either song for the record, thanks! LOL.]

I am proud to say that this is the first time I’ve ever heard this song. It sounds just like Just Dance.

    2. January 4, 2010 FirstGentleman

You know now that you mention it, I hear it too, Gaga would smash her to pieces tho.

    3. January 4, 2010 @ndrew

Anytime an artist can’t spell their name you know its gonna end up being tragic. It’s all very been there/done that. The only positive thing I can say is that the song is catchy, albeit grating. Sorry I tried my best to be positive. Btw – Tik Tok totally sounds like Gaga’s “Just Dance” but that’s just me. It shows once again how musically & artistically deprived these children growing up are. Apparently in the world we live in, it doesn’t take much talent to sell 2 million copies just ask Ke$ha.

    4. January 4, 2010 whoohoo

i hate lady sovereign i really hope she doesn’t bring out new music since shes in the ‘celenrity’ big brother house. but yeah kesha (the dollar sign i cant get with) SUCKS!

    5. January 4, 2010 SororSalsa

This sounds like Gaga’s younger, much less talented sister (*cough* ahem Solange *cough*)

    6. January 4, 2010 FirstGentleman

      *DEAD* @ solange!

    7. January 4, 2010 YTMatt

yeah, I can’t get behind this. I couldn’t even listen past about 1:30. It’s grating. She always looks like she tries too hard.

We’re not going to be talking about her for long. I wonder if we’ll remember come June.

    8. January 4, 2010 Meka

this country’s standard for music continues to plummet. hell, the yodel ish during the chorus gets me. lol i can do an instrumental though. *goes to listen to lady gaga*

    9. January 4, 2010 No....

How the f*ck does this girl have a record deal?
Really RCA there was NO ONE ELSE you could sing to your label that had more talent than her? smh…

    12. January 5, 2010 The IPS

Yes, we are late, but you know, stuff like this escapes here sometimes at Tha Feedback. We fly above all the foolishness like Kandi. B.L.O.G. late but better late than never! HAHAHAHAHA

    13. January 5, 2010 LivvinJapan

Pass. It’s my first time listening to the song and I don’t need to hear it again.
