Toni Braxton – “Looking At Me” [Listen & Download]
I’m sure most of these songs were created in 2009, but I just hope 2010 music doesn’t sound so stale and repetitive in 2010. That being said, I want Toni’s album whenever it drops to be good. And I’m trying not to judge releases on the leaks that precede it. However, Toni Braxton I see is still not looking to change the game but simply is happy being a “player” and getting a check. I love Darkchild though, but this sounds 2009. We off that!

Shanell – “The Other Side” Feat. Lil’ Wayne & Ne-Yo (Prod. by David Guetta) [Listen & Download]
OK, wow. This sounds like it should be a song on Diddy’s Last Train to Paris because Shanell sounds like Dawn (and also her sister Danity Kane’s D. Woods) and the David Guetta beat is just bland enough for Diddy to put on his yet-to-have-a-release-date album. Cause Lord knows “Angels” is just not the move.
Shanell’s signed to Young Money and this track features her singing. I swore chick was a rapper. LOL, clearly I have not been paying attention. This song is cool, I’d turn it on while I was cleaning. Kelly Rowland would sound better over it though. The track is boring and derivative though.

Dawn – “Hair Down” Feat. Diddy [Listen + Download]
Not sure if this is a solo joint that was recorded pre-Dirty Money/post-Danity Kane limbo but it was produced by production teams The Surf Boys and features someone else on vocals besides Dawn, not sure who. Diddy drops a verse about nothing in the middle. There are some Dawn fans so I figured I’d post this. Nothing to write home about, still sounds like a demo. Dawn has a unique voice but she really needs to find some material to connect with when, you know, Dirty Money hits the skids and she gets signed to Interscope…just saying.
