    • New Music: Kelly Price Is Back And Is “Tired” Of Her Man, Ya’ll…

      Kelly Price – “Tired”

Kelly Price has been tweeting about her new song “Tired” and wanting for people to call in and request it at radio for days now so I got on my Internet grind and had to find this new song (because who listens to radio? LOL). “Tired” is supposedly from her upcoming solo album Kelly, and is the first single from the album (which I’m not sure WHEN it is going to be released).

“Tired” starts off good, with Kelly sounding great and the song showing promise. However, for me, it quickly falls apart and becomes a big oversung melodramatic song, full of crowded production with a lack of emphasis on vocals (which sound a bit rough at times as well surprisingly). What starts off simply with strings and vocals ends with belted notes, guitars, ad-libs, strings, synths, kicks, hi-hats, bass and more. It just doesn’t end that well.

Kelly can’t seem to recapture the effortless soul and emotion that her first album contained. I’m not sure if this is the song that will be the song that reignites my love for Kelly Price vocally. I am still looking forward to The Queen Project though — hopefully they deliver with that.

You idiots wouldn’t know good singing and song that are about something because y’all are caught up in booty poppin music, the song is GREAT.. I’m “TIRED” of idiot music fans, SIT DOWN!!!!!

      7. May 14, 2010 The IPS

ROFL @ idiot music fans. I know what good singing is and I never said Kelly didn’t do her good singing! I said she sounded good but there are a few rough spots, and that my biggest issue was the PRODUCTION.

But thanks anyway for coming through LOL. I appreciate the hits. Click an ad on your way out! :)

      8. May 14, 2010 FirstGentleman

@DivaTy No she shouldn’t do gospel, she was a hot fire and brimestone mess.

      9. May 14, 2010 twizzle

I kinda like it. But that could just be me really missin’ my girl. Truth be told, she coulda probably just made fart songs with her mouth and I woulda been like “SING IT, KELLY!!!!”

I think I’m actually ENJOYING the roughness of the track. Kinda has a live feel to it. I think she’d murder this live on the Monique show.

        @Huh?,
I’m a Kelly fan too, but Christ Jesus, it’s not that serious! You a lil’ too “turnt up” for us over here in these parts . . .

      14. May 16, 2010 The IPS

I’m going to reiterate that it’s not that I didn’t like the song, I was just pointing out the problem areas. I feel as if if the production was cleaned up and refined and tweaked in a few spots I could LOVE this. But I am the biggest Kelly fan ever…so yeah.

      15. May 17, 2010 pokey

kelly hey wats up ma, most women would agree to this song, only because looking for good men has been a forever thing! if this by any chance is a self exsperence thing, then go back to were i knew you and how strong you were, coming up in a rough envionment,
but having a strong mother, seeking the lord and trusting in him, thats wat you do now,DON’T EVER GET TIERD GET STRONGER!!!!!

      18. May 18, 2010 Awntelshay

I love this song!!!! It’s more for young ladys turning into a grown women. And when you realize being nice doesn’t get you know where but taken advantage off. I heard it and I wanted to cry because this was exactly what I was feeling. And all the music out there didn’t catch my attention for strength it just kept me wondering is there anyone else out there who is going thru the samething alone.

      19. May 19, 2010 Mo

Yall r CRAZY AS HELL. She saaannnng and I’m sure the father the son and the holy spirit heard her lol. She sang the heavens and the hell out this song. Lets hear Crackney and Mooriah sang like this….. I’ll wait…… I didn’t think so.

      20. May 20, 2010 BartFitzgerald

God bless Kelly and all her ministry partners doing the Stan on this thread, anyway. This song is simply overdone. Sounds like the producer just got some new presets in fruity loops and forgot to tune her vocals. Although Kelly is a vocal powerhouse and some moments do shine, can anybody explain the baptist fit she went into on the end of the track? I’m confused between lifting my hands or lifting my glass on this one.

      21. May 21, 2010 Dee357

Hello Kelly, whether you sing Gospel or R&B, you have a beautiful voice, and its within your heart and song of you feel, which no one can take that from you. God Bless you and your family.

      22. May 21, 2010 Tam

Yeah, the last few seconds should have been deleted…. I saw where she was trying to go with it, but….

      23. May 21, 2010 EaZy

        no thanks.

      24. May 22, 2010 Deedle

You have to see her perform this song in person from the start I fell in love with this song all you haters who probably aren’t fans of really great music need to kill yourself cause Kelly can “SANG”!! and she did an excellent job on the song…

      25. June 2, 2010 Kara Lujan

Call into your local radio station and request “Tired” Kelly’s new album will be out in August 2010.

      26. July 5, 2010 courtney

I love that song….. I think itz so grown up and to all who have been through anything can identify with the feeling of being Tired…. Tired means letting go….. GO Kelly!!!!

      27. July 21, 2010 Denise

I think this song is Magnificent, I heard this for the first time today 7/21/2010 on Youtube and listened to it over and over and I think you get the point. Many people can’t here because their to busy talking and wanting to get an opinion across. Learn to stop and embrace, and this song had me doing just that as I listened. God Bless.

      28. July 28, 2010 Musiclover

This is song is alright i like the concept of it but there could’ve been more to the lyrics and song instead of making it a repetitive listing song but Kelly killed that vocally, that’s what real sanging is about!!

      29. July 28, 2010 Lita

It’s one of those songs where if you never truly experienced what she’s taking about it’s not going to touch you the same. Her style hasn’t changed and I love her, that’s my girl.

      30. July 29, 2010 Soulezz

@Adam P… you are very correct, a lot of people have forgotten what real music was. It is all this converted POP crap that they think is R&B. Rhythm and Blues is what it stands for people. R&B has been lost over the last 15 years and I’m glad to see people like Jazmine S., Chrisette M., Melanie F., Anthony D,. Anthony H, Musiq, Jennifer H., Heather H., and others are bring the real R&B back. Kelly did the damn thing on here. Those who cannot relate are usually the young ones who have not been through what Kelly is talking about. I also agree that the end could have been a little less, but if you feeling the song, that is how it will come out. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but hating on someone is another level. Give props where they are due, and she sure as heck is over due for hers.

      31. August 2, 2010 MissLyrical

I’m an accomplished songwriter myself….she did not stick to ANY of the ‘rules’ the industry follows…for R&B, for Gospel or for Pop.

Lyrical progression? The arrangement? The production? Absolutely NO RULES did she follow.

But. When. I. Tell. U. This song hit it’s mark!!!??? All the way across the board.

        My Lord.

Thank you, Ms. Price…..for taking a chance and helping change the game!!!!

        Standing Ovation.

#First in line to buy the release.

        :-D

      32. August 4, 2010 Damzel

Kelly brought the breath of fresh air! I loved it.

      33. August 10, 2010 Sean

        Kelly is F R I G G I N’ A M A Z I N !!!
You are in a coma if you don’t feel those words and her instant connection to what too many ladies are living!
I will have that disc day one!
        TrUsT!

      34. August 11, 2010 Diane

That song is awesome. You have to have been there to understand the lyrics. Bring-it-on Kelly! Once again you have done your thang!!!!
