Never been to a Mary J. Blige concert? Well if you haven’t, let me tell you, it’s a damn near religious experience. I kid you not. People crying, waving their hands, Mary on stage preaching and testifying, screaming, howling, GOING IN. I took a yt person with me, and I think even SHE was moved to tears if I remember correctly.
Well, last night Mary J. did a live set for David Letterman from the Ed Sullivan Theatre in NYC, and if you missed the 30 min. live broadcast, here it is. Mary may not be a vocal whiz-kid, but she holds her own and wields her catalog of hits like a formidable weapon. A Mary concert is about the experience, and she usually backs up her energetic shows with a tight band and excellent backgrounds, so even if she misses a note or two, they are there to catch her when she falls. Peep it above, AND, after the jump, check out Mary’s Walmart Soundcheck performances where she performs some MORE new and old hits.
