OK, this video is HOT. I’ve not really liked or paid to much attention to Electrik Red so far. I was feeling Sophia Fresh’s “What It Is” more than I was feeling their first song “Drank In My Cup”.
If you don’t know who they are, they are the latest female producer-driven group, in this case, producer being The-Dream & Tricky. They are set to drop on his Radio Killla imprint soon.
I loved the simplicity of this video though, which doubly makes you pay more attention to the vocals and the ladies. The play on their name via the colors, the ropes, the SUBTLE sensual undertones of both the song and the video…yeah.
I like this! A lot. At times, especially when they were doing their group dances, they were channeling En Vogue to me. Do ya’ll agree?

The vocals aren’t that strong, but I am feeling the song. There’s definitely a Prince/mid-80s/Vanity 6 feel to the beat which I LOVE. It’s growing on me fast.
Although I am old school and don’t want to hear all that “hit that” mess.

The Dream definitely owes Prince a paycheck.
Both “Rockin’ That Thing” and this track are blatant rip-offs of Prince tracks.
This one is is basically “Pop Life,” in a major key, right down to the slap bass guitar.
Either way, both songs are pretty bangin’. The Dream is definitely my favorite producer right now. I’m actually looking forward to that new Mariah album, thanks to him.

These girls are my guilty pleasure. I’m looking forward to their album. Pretty much mindless R&B, but I need some new music ASAP. I’m hitting up The-Dreams show on Thursday. Electrik Red is going to open for him so I’m interested to see how that goes.

I hate that the bar has been set so low for girl groups. put 2gether 4 pretty girls- hope that 1 of them can sing- put her with a talented song writer/producer and bam- get a record deal. im not hating by any way shape or form- the video was cute and there pretty, but damn, I’m pretty and have a dope camcorder- should i go searching for three other chicks to pair with me to get a deal? where’s the REAL talent? the singing? the harmonies? mayb im just naive to think that when i hear “girl group” i’d xpect to hear real talent…

Wow- just heard about these chicks-so its 4 girls and only 1 sings the whole song???? why didnt she just get a solo deal?
i’d hate to see them live if the track goes out behind them during there performance…
ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
video is simple though- i liked that.
