    • Music Video: Jordin Sparks – “S.O.S. (Let The Music Play)”

Written by The IPS in Videos on Sep 12, 09

Jordin Sparks looks hot and I know that YTMatt would agree that this would be a step up from her last video for “Battlefield”. That being said, what’s really going on? LOL the ghetto nails, the dark overtones, it’s like, random!

Not that she doesn’t look good or anything, but they tried to mix this dark feel with this really super poppy song and I don’t think it came out too well. There’s a cameo from her beau as well in this vid. I’m not hating it and I’m not loving it though. It’s alright! What do you guys think?

Robot Films in the building — Chris Robinson turned in a very stylish treatment, but Jordin’s aura is a little bit too “positive” to carry it out to its maximum potential. The random kaleidoscope section felt really…random. Like “OK we ran out of footage because Jordin shot this video super fast in-between tour stops”. Cool though, but again, random.

      1. September 13, 2009 IVORY'S INTELLECT

I expected something bubbly, but that’s probably why she did something darker and sexier to show her maturity. Someone online said JS probably ‘poops rainbows’- it shows how people see her as a cutesy teen singer. Now it’s time to shed that image and grow. I just hope she doesn’t take it too far i.e. getting naked to show she’s a woman now.

Sorry, also wanted to say that the party scene was boring. It’s been done too many times before, but the smoke and dancers was a nice, original touch that should’ve featured MUCH more than a few seconds.

      3. September 13, 2009 YTMatt

The gold dress goes to show that they can make her look sexy without being trashy.

She looks hawt in this video. The wardrobe, hair, and especially makeup are fantastic. The nails, especially when she’s “texting” are major LOL moments.

This was a good cell phone commercial (whatever pays the bills).

There were too many treatments in this video. The smoke thing was cool, but doesn’t fit. They seem to be telling a story, but it’s not very clear because there’s too many other things going on.

I like the dark sexiness of it. I even thought she was hot in the black trench.

The reason people think she poops rainbows is because they are waiting until now to finally sexualize her and take her beyond some bubbly pop-tart.

Definite step in the right direction, albeit a bit messy thematically.

The voice tho. She’s got such a freaking amazing voice. She can make these craptacular lyrics shine. Make you forget how poorly written this song is.
