If there has ever been a more recent case of ball dropping in a clutch moment, please feel free to point it out.
This overly dramatic, overly digitized song AND video are chock full of pretentiousness and emotionless pandering.
There was a time when Mariah Carey with a Gospel choir meant spine tingling vocals. This time? It’s Mimi standing in front of a cliched gospel choir with some hot pants and boots. I mean, REALLY. What was she and her team thinking?
“I Want To Know What Love Is” was supposed to be the savior of the album after “Obsessed” hit the charts like a ton of bricks, and you know, since it was only really the “street single”, THIS song was supposed to be IT. Well….
This video is awkward, boring and just terrible and Mariah knows better. At least in the “Loverboy” video her being half-naked AND crazy made it entertaining. This is just being ill-dressed and Mimi-miming for the camera. Hype Williams once again gets a fail.
I see her shoutout to “the kids” though. She knows the kids and the lambs are the only ones falling for it. The rest of us? *pops in Ledisi*

I see they were trying to reel in all the old school “Emotions” Mariah fans by bringing back the tight black mini and the curly brown hair. Didn’t work on me. At all! Mariah what happened to your voice??? This video and that Letterman live footage is just making want old school Mariah back!

That video was really cheesy. IMO she’s never been one to make great or interesting videos… Mostly everything since the late 90s has just been about her being cute/sexy and prancing around. Personally I don’t think she even needs to release anymore singles from that album. Go have a baby and get some perspective.

I’m not a lamb, but I like the song. I can do w/o the video though. It’s really only 5 good songs on her latest album though.
“IWTKWLI”
“Up Out My Face” (which could be a single, but the video will prolly suck)
“Is’t a Wrap”
“Candy Bling” (you can here hints of “I Love Your Girl” in there though)
“Obsessed” (I like it, don’t stone me!)

I love it too SK! Much more than the blonde business she’s been working the past couple years. She looks great with her hair like that but I think it’s a total marketing ploy.

Isn’t it a little late for a video for this song? Didn’t it officially flop? The video is super boring. I can’t believe Hype Williams really directed this junk. A check is a check though.

IPS you have to be mistaken…HYPE WILLIAMS DID THIS VIDEO???? WTF??

Wow, this video was the worst…I couldn’t even finish it without laughing my a– off, and that little blond kid freaked me out with the close-up. Hype, please retire.
