Jully Black Is “Running” For US Recognition, What Do You Think?

I’ve posted about Jully Black before, as she is one of my favorite North of the Border R&B artists. Her last album Revival was THROUGHLY enjoyable. Much better than most American R&B albums that came out that year (2007) actually.

Well, she’s back with a new album called The Black Book and this single “Running” is the first video to be released for it.

It’s a much more laid-back affair than her last album’s singles, like “Seven Day Fool”. However, her voice is strong and though highly stylized this time around, Jully looks great. She’s that artist that people know but not really, as she’s worked with a lot of people here in the US as well. This video may not establish her US presence anymore, but it’s a good attempt nonetheless. “Running” the song itself is a decent affair, but I much prefer Jully when she’s uptempo and/or more ferocious.
