    • Gospel Wig Game Proper! Ann Nesby’s “I Found A Place”

Written by The IPS in Videos on Mar 10, 09

OK, most of ya’ll probably don’t know who Ann Nesby is. Most recently, you might remember her from the “Fighting Temptations” as the aunt that Darren (Cuba Gooding, Jr.) went to go and see and that opened up the movie singing with Shirley Ceasar.

She was also the lead singer for the Sounds of Blackness [Check out "Optimistic" which she sings on]. She is also Paris Bennett’s grandmother (remember Paris from American Idol? She put out an album too…girl can sang & just had a baby).

Well, she has a Gospel project in the works. Ya’ll know I am a Gospel head, despite the nignorance I have to post about on Tha Feedback. But Ann is one of the most underrated R&B/Soul vocalists of our time, so I always check for her music. One of my favorite songs is her duet with Al Green, “Put It On Paper”.

Well, the first single/video from her Gospel album dropped and…I can’t.

From the myriad of wigs, to the cheapness of the video, it’s just an all around raggedy tragedy! Her wig game is on that hundred thousand trillion swagger ya’ll.

What’s even worse though is that SHE IS SANGING this song. Just…crazy vocals.

One of our readers/twitter friends hit the nail on the head though when he said “dude, that ann nesby video looks like a madtv skit. no ma’am miss nesby…”

I love the song though! ROFL. Pray for me. Between this video and LaTonya’s debut single, I’m bout ready to crank dat w/ Mahalia Jackson and do the Stanky Legg up to the Pearly Gates!

Wow. Just don’t have a video if you can’t afford the budget. Truly tragic. :(

        Color Purple game proper.

        That lipstick . . . is . . . atrocious.

At 0:25, I wasn’t sure if I was looking at an exotic offshoot of the duck-billed platypus species, or Ronald McDonald in blackface . . .

        Why Anne . . . Why?

The devil is clearly alive and well. “I Found A Wig” is more like it. Song would have been so much more effective had I not seen this.

We from the Chi are no longer claiming this woman.

what is with her in that scene when shes in the red superhero outfit with the crucifix in the background? she look like she trying to fly with them wings. (1:42 especially)

the neck-tie mumu – i cant and will not jesus. take the wheel and take me higher lord cause that was just too much for me.

at 1:47 who did it better, nesby or beyonce (http://www.rap-up.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/beyonce-tour-video-3-475×357.jpg)?? LOL its the same image, only one is wearing a curtain (aretha style).

oh you know that hoe at the beginning would not get more than 2 steps of life after taking a handful of money out of her pimps hand. im just sayinn..
