Mary J. Blige – “Nothing on Me”

Everyone was up in an uproar on Twitter because MJB was using AUTO-TUNE! I’mma step out on a limb and say that a) if I looked hard enough, I am sure this isn’t the first time and b) it’s not going to hurt anything, especially if she used it live, because we know sometimes Mary can be pitchy!

Yeah she’s the Queen and all but ya’ll know…ok. I’m going to stop. This joint has radio DJ drops and what not because Flex premiered it, so when we get a HQ expect it up. It’s an interesting joint produced by Darkchild, not sure how I feel about it. I need to listen more…but I’m happy Mary is working on new music.

Trey Songz Feat. Sammie – “She Ain’t My Girl”

This song to me has a nice little kick to me, but Trey Songz and Sammie on a track is just a little too much warbly vibrato and ends-of-phrases to me. Like, both of them can sing, but it’s that little waver they have in their voices that kill me! I enjoy both of them though. What ya’ll think of this?

Jordin Sparks – “Battlefield”

This song is just full of so much win to me right now. I am loving Jordin’s strong vocals, I’m loving the power rock ballad feel of the song…just loving it overall. The topic is well-tread but Jordin’s delivery on this song is what seals it for me. When she performed it on Idol I was liking it, but after a couple of listens it goes hard. Feels very 90’s but with an update to make it more relevant. For some reason I hear it and think Whitney in the old days, don’t know why…
