Mario – “Good One” [Download]
This is a laid-back cut from Mario, not sure if it’s going to be on DNA, his new album out soon or if it is a leftover, but it’s a nice if not safe R&B cut. The subject matter is typical, but where Mario has always shined is his vocals. He’s always hit-or-miss in terms of material, so hopefully DNA is a shining masterpiece that will show up Trey Songz. That’s what he needs at this point in the game…

Leona Lewis – “Happy” [Download]
She hit some notes on this joint — specifically the “pass me byyyyy” — that sound CRAZY. And not in a good way. I remember folks were calling her the next Mariah Carey when she dropped, and outside of her “range” and penchant for uptempo-meets-power ballads, I don’t see the comparison personally. Leona Lewis has an interesting voice, powerful yet fragile sounding at times as well. She can definitely sing though, no shade. But…she does that voice break thing which I know some folks hate. This is a new leak produced by her “Bleeding Love” producer Ryan Tedder. What do you think?

I love the new Leona. I don’t think people need to compare her, there’s room in the world for both of them. It will be interesting to see Leona’s career develop, as she still seems so grounded for someone who’s got such an amazing talent.
That pic of Mario is fug to the maxx. Some people should not go bald.

The Leona song is truly beautiful. Forget the lazy media comparisons to Mariah etc and let her forge her own career. She’s said herself that they;re ridiculous.

Mario reminds me of the Conehead movie. Just one big, gigantically HUUUUUUUUGE forehead.
Leona’s song is boring. If they tried to recreate Bleeding Love, they failed imo. She can’t stay in the same place forever.

I like the Leona song. Her first album wasn’t that great besides the singles and maybe 2 other songs so maybe this next album will be more interesting.
