B.o.B. – “Nothing On You” Feat. Bruno Mars [Download + Listen]
B.o.B. AKA Bobby Ray has finally dropped something new and worthwhile to share. “Nothing On You” featuring Bruno Mars is a nice mix of pop vocals and musical influences with hip-hop and alternative sensibilities. This song screams crossover if you ask me — it’s almost Kanye/Mr. Hudson but with more pop leanings and easier to digest, minus all the 808′s and heartbreak and depression. Spotted this over at okayplayer today.
I’m such a fan of Bobby Ray and while I wish he’d figure out his name (and let us all in on what he chooses), I cannot wait to see what he brings to the table in April when his album is released. He really has a knack for storytelling and originality in his music. I’m not sure who Bruno Mars is, but hey, it all works on this joint! His voice kind of reminds me of that Nelson dude that was signed to Ryan Leslie’s NextSelection label…
