Whitney’s looking good…but not sounding that great.
At all.
At least not with this performance. Out of breath, hoarse, flat…you name it, she WAS it on this performance from France that I spotted first over at That Grape Juice.
From what I can tell, she performed this song in its original key, but left most of the heavy lifting (chorus, refrains, etc.) to the background singers and the “audience”. It’s such a drastic turnaround from the German performance I just posted, but one could argue her voice is tired from her non-stop promo schedule overseas.
Still, this “Million Dollar Bill” might need to be pulled out of circulation and sent to the shredder, because this performance was painful to listen to. Big shouts to the background singers though, holding it down. Is it just me or does one of them look like Mo’Nique!? I was thrown off for a second LOL.
The note she hits at the end of that “Ohhhhh” at about :56 seconds was HEARTBREAKING though. Jeezyus be a bag of Halls and a carafe of Throat Coat Tea! Yikes @ this performance. *insert sad face*
Catch during the interview portion though where she busts “I Look To You” a capella — she sounds good, but of course, the song is pitched lower…look at the 6:45 mark.

While I’ve been an avid Whitney defender, this performance was a major come-down from Germany, and just outright horrible. Love you Whitney, but perhaps she should stick with “I Look To You” live.
