I watched Jimmy Fallon’s new show last night to catch the debut of The Roots as the “house band”. It was…interesting. Seeing ?uestlove get his Max Weinberg on was slightly hilarious.
I also tuned in to see Justin Timberlake because, while he may be a GIANT tool, has amazing comedic timing. Seriously. And he didn’t disappoint last night. His Michael McDonald impression was A+++!
As a matter of fact, I really felt like he upstaged Jimmy on his own show LOL. Justin was way more comfortable, funnier and engaging than Jimmy. I think Jimmy was super nervous (which is understandable) and his monologue and interview w/ Robert DeNeiro was so painful. So was the sketch that they did.
The keys players from The Roots barely got any screen time because they are ABOVE ?uestlove’s head. That is a weird setup.
But the worst thing of the night goes to “Slow Jam The News”. While it was funny, Black Thought as a crooner? NO THANKS. He tried to get his Sam Cooke on and instead got his William Hung on. Lawd, it was painful. I guess he has to pull his weight somehow though, right? It ain’t like he can rap.to.everything. LOL.
Overall, I miss Conan. I’m sure it will get better as time goes along. Ludacris is going to be on later this week. There’s been a lot of blowback about Roots being the house band…what do ya’ll think? A check is a check!

When Jimmy Fallon came out with his music video “Idiot Boyfriend” a couple years ago, with him imitating Bobby Brown’s “Every Little Step” video with the biker shors & gumby (LMAO), I’ve been a fan ever since, so I am excited & happy that he has his own show.
I just watched Justin’s Interview and it was really good. His John Mayer & Michael McDonald impressions were hilarious!!! I love that he has The Roots as his house band & Black Thought wasn’t that bad as a crooner, I guess it’s a lil’ wierd because we aren’t use to him singing.
I think this will be a great late night show and I will be giving his show a chance.

I love Jimmy Fallon. Ever since he hosted the MTV VMA’s and did his impressions of Enrique Iglesias, Nelly, James Brown and etc. I have been a fan of his. I loved the idiot boyfriend video too.. still cracks me up.

I thought that was pretty funny…I admit, I was giving Thought the side eye when he first started singing, but the “she added an amendment” line had me hollering!
