Live Report: Dave Chappelle Returns…Kind Of…

Ok I was AT this show. Randomly heard about it mostly through Facebook though.

It was crazy because stuff never happens like this in Portland LOL, where I have the unfortunate pleasure of living. So when I heard it through the grapevine (literally) I rolled out with the roomie to see if it was really gonna happen.

Well after standing around for about an hour with the masses of people, popo’s all around, and folks getting aggy, we decided to jet. Just as we did, who rolls up but Dave!

I touched the hem of his garment and my cousin & aunt carried his equipment up to stage ROFL!

It was massive amounts of people and Dave had no security. All he had was a battery powered PA which you couldn’t hear unless you were RIGHT up on him. I could decipher ish cause I wasn’t far away.

Basically, he told 5 people thinking that maybe 200 people would show up, and bam, word spread like wildfire and turned into THOUSANDS. Mostly white folks. LOL this IS Oregon.

If you hear him saying something about a girl putting her clothes back on…well 2 dudes and a girl climbed on top of a Starbucks and started stripping! Guys stripped down to their skivvies and the girl took her bra off and started flashing like she was auditioning for a Drake/Kanye video! Crazy YT folk.

As a matter of fact, there was lots of flashing. If I played in the snow I woulda been in heaven!

Some dreadlocked rasta looking dude said he had PA equipment and went and got it. We waited for about 20 minutes and then he came but there was no power. It degenerated into nignorant shenanigans after that.

People kepp getting on stage and Dave was like, to hell with this. Some chick tried to get on the mic and sing (the cute one standing next to him in the vid) and we weren’t having that! People started booing her and calling her “Fake Fiona” (Apple). Wamp wamp!

We left at about 2 am after it was clear nothing was happening! And nothing did.

So there was no real show. He only showed up because it snowballed into this huge debacle and the police called him because the crowd wouldn’t disperse. It was bananas! I was out like I didn’t have to go to work the next day.

Dave was mad cool for even showing up, props to him for that. He was real chill and tried to tell a few jokes though and did his best to keep anything from popping off.
