Keri Hilson does Wal-mart’s Soundcheck program and apparently “Alienated” is the newest single…in the UK.
This performance, along with this album cut, is pretty lackluster. Though not bad, I get the feeling that Keri’s slightly disconnected from it physically/mentally, and that “alienates” me a bit.
I’m just not sure if we, the people, are “getting” it. Keri’s talented, that’s for sure, but talented to do what exactly?
I think that hopefully her new album will bring some clarity to who Keri is musically and work to establish her more as an artist.

I like Keri when I first started hearing about her, but not she bores me. Something about her seems so generic now. She seems like a combo of every other R&B artist out right now. I think of her as a C artist. Not above average, not below. Just some place in between. Even if she does change up her style on the next album, I don’t know if I would be convinced.

I love the “wetseal” wig with the Vaseline back drop….I would feel alienated too.
