Look at Amerie trying to turn in a good vocal performance!

I can’t even throw shade on this one, she sounded the best I’ve ever heard her sound. I mean, I could sing this song, it’s SO low, and I feel like she tried to limit a lot of the movement towards the beginning of the song so she could focus on her vocals, leaving a lot of the stage work to the dancers.

BTW, she really should give those dancers that didn’t make it onto Lady GaGa’s tour back to whatever agency they come from LOL. Them costumes, the hair, the glasses, no.

Other than that, this “Why R U?” song really grew on me and I am gonna review this album for ya’ll because she had a few nice joints. Overall this performance was pretty decent. Amerie has a lot of fans that defend her, yet I heard her album is projected to sell about 5K copies the first week? WOW. That’s really, really bad…hopefully those numbers get up and/or that is an inaccurate number.

Folks are already asking Amerie “Why R U” still here. She has a lot of work to do!

I really like Amerie. I hope her cd doesn’t flop..she has a lot of heart and she does have a solid fan base. Plus, she doesn’t seem afraid to take risks musically…I respect that in an artist.

My only beef with it is that Amerie should have a live band. With all the loud instrumentations in her songs, it would be more beneficial for her to have a band rather than a DJ.

I haven’t really been a fan of Amerie but I thought that was a pretty good performance. She sounded the best I’ve ever heard her sound.

This performance was way better compared to her Wendy Williams performance, that was horrid. Damn 5K? She should’ve known better than to sign with Def Jam anyway…

i agree with dr. heather. amerie’s voice is so distinctive and different than all of these overproduced pop goblins. its refreshing to hear someone do something different. ive always been a fan of her music and her exotic look. i hope she does really well the first week to show that sometimes the underdog does come out on top

She needs to release “Red Eye” from the new album…that’s a hit.
