Raphael Saadiq turned the hell out of one of my favorite joints on his latest album. “100 Yard Dash” is just chock full of old soul goodness and funkiness.

Let me tell you…his backup singers…HARD WORKERS. They get their Motown-esque jig ON.
Raphael is a fair to middling singer but his music and band are so good, it doesn’t matter. True story. I like the way they changed up the song though…not to sure about him strutting around like a spring chicken or an extra from “Idlewild” LOL.
