Janet is dropping another greatest hits set, this time though, it has some new joints that haven’t been released and features of course some of her most recent joints. I guess it has been about what…14 years since Design of a Decade came out, so it’s time. Comes out Nov. 17th. I’mma cop it.
I’m excited that “Scream” will be on there, as well as “The Best Things (In Life Are Free)” — I LOVE that song with Luther! And “All For You” is another fave — they could’ve left off “Call on Me” with Nelly and swapped it for “Son of a Gun” with Missy, but that’s just me. Tracklist after the jump!

They really did a great job using the alternate versions of many of the album tracks. I’m shocked by the inclusion of “Alright” w/ Heavy D, and “I Get Lonely,” w/ Blackstreet. Whoever put this together did a great job.
However, as a Janet STAN, I would have liked to see the “Pleasure Principle” remix included (it’s the version in the video—goes WAY harder than the album version), and the R. Kelly remix of “Anytime, Anyplace.”
Also, it’s as if Janet wants the world to forget she had two full albums released BEFORE control. Her very first single, “Young Love” (produced by Angela Winbush) and “Don’t Stand Another chance” (produced by Marlon Jackson), were both top 10 R&B hits when they were released. I distinctly remember hearing these songs on the radio in the 80′s, and they did well.
If you REALLY wanna get technical, the inclusion of “Feel It Boy,” and “Luv Me, Luv Me” probably wouldn’t have drawn any complaints from anyone. “Girlfriend, Boyfriend” with Blackstreet is probably the only song officially released with Janet on it that just didn’t deserve inclusion. However, any of the aforementioned tracks would have been a welcome replacement for that garbage she did with Nelly. Even the Hype Williams directed video was a hot mess.
Regardless, I’ll always stan for Ms. Jackson (if you nasty)!
