    • Beyonce’s “Special” Was No More Than An Advertisement + Live DVD Review

Written by The IPS in Blogs,New Music & Reviews on Nov 28, 09

You know, I watched this with the rest of America, and while overall I’m a fan, I felt this was unnecessary. Did we really learn anything new? Was there anything super exclusive or exciting about this special? I feel like no. It was basically an advertisement for her latest DVD, which our very own Stefkes wrote a review on (see after the jump).

I think we are all collectively starting to get to that place again where we feel like Beyonce’ needs to go take a break and get off of our radars. However, with reports of her working on or being finished with a new album that will come out next year, we may not get that wish for Christmas. Check out this hilarious comedy clip too of Beyonce’ and Rihanna in “Celebrity Therapy” as well before you hit the jump. Homegirl sounds JUST like Beyonce’!

I Am…Yours. An Intimate Performance at Wynn Las Vegas Review
      By Stefkes for ThaFeedback.com

Beyoncé leaves Sasha at home for the biggest part on her I Am…Yours DVD. Showing off her vocals and her great body in vintage Gaultier-couture, Beyoncé toned it down while still showing every other chick in the game how it’s done.

The first ‘act’ of this show at the Wynn in Las Vegas starts off with an intimate session then aptly opens with a performance of “Hello”, “Halo” and a slowed down, “ballad” version of “Sweet Dreams”. Ending the “intimate” part with a live showing of the never before performed “Resentment”, an intermission follows with a little Ella Fitzgerald as an intro to “Deja Vu”.

The second act starts with Beyoncé and 3 of her female dancers acting out the history of Destiny’s Child. As the song tempo increases, Sasha comes out to play, with equally sassy remarks towards her (former) band members and haters. “And no matter what they said about me, I was bootylicious. You don’t believe me?! … Look it up in the dictionary!”

Next up; Beyoncé informs the audience about her solo projects including her own records and her movie roles, whilst performing the hell out of “Crazy In Love,” “Work It Out,” “Get Me Bodied” and the concert’s closing song and worldwide smash “Single Ladies”.

And that’s a rap! After the curtains closed, there’s the bonus section where you can check out a 23 minute documentary impression of how this show was put together.

The big stadium tour in support of her I Am…Sasha Fierce CD will be out on DVD some time next year, as well as a new Beyoncé record.

So basically, this 23 minute documentary at the end of the DVD is what we saw on TV right? LOL.

I’m a fan, but I AM a little tired of this “rare” video footage we keep seeing of her as a child. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve seen it.

i was watching the show (which was ok) and her lipstick kept distracting me. i guess she’s trying to make her lips look bigger because she’s going above her lips. thats all i kept looking at.

She looks like a man in that still. I watched it and I wasn’t really impressed. And then the fact that she’s supposed to be doing another album next yr….. Creole overload!!!!!

yeah, i was not thrilled with the makeup/weave either.

i am not a fan, but no one can knock her hustle…no pop singer has her voice (notice i am distinguishing “pop” singers, jill scott, jazmine sullivan, and others with voices+quality lyrics need not apply for that title but have better, more soulful voices imo). she outsings and outperforms every pop act out. with that said, she still should sit her ass down some where…i’m tired of seeing her EVERYWHERE!!

      6. December 3, 2009 Ratchet

It has been years and years of people commenting on her makeup without EVER understanding the concept of stage makeup. Especially for this concert, where there was no video screen.

Either way, if the stans are saying they learned shit (and we did – that woman does not play around), you’re either missing something or just looking for something to complain about.
