    • As Rihanna Returns To Stages, We Wonder Why The Wait Has To Be Ova…

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Nov 24, 09

So Rihanna performed this morning on “Good Morning America” and did a medley of selections to celebrate the release of her new album Rated R, which has finally hit stores. “The Wait Is Ova” is above, followed by “Russian Roulette” after the jump (which was slightly painful to listen to, goodness!).

I am debating whether or not I’m going to write a review of this album. Mama said if you don’t have nothing nice to say, don’t say nothing at all LOL!

My issues with this performance are the same that I had with her AMA performance. She looks great but…well, she looks great. It’s akin to one of your friends having an ugly baby. You are happy they had one after trying so hard, but it’s the ugliest baby EVER. So what do you do when they ask “Isn’t she cute?!” You say, “Aww that is a precious outfit!” Cause you know if you tell the truth…

Yeah. I’m just so underwhelmed with her live. You’d think after all her struggles and whatnot, she’d take the time to improve her stage presence and vocals because I’d rather watch Mariah Carey gargle rocks and skin kittens for them whistle notes than watch Rihanna’s half-a**ed performance, vocal, movement and otherwise. Sorry.

Ok we all know Rihanna can’t sing live to safe her life, this was just a mess. But I listened to her CD earlier today and you know what its hot. I wasn’t expecting it to be but its actually a good CD. So you should do a review.

Off the album, I like “Rude Boy” that’s it.
Meanwhile, would SOMEBODY work with her on live performances, please??

This is an unacceptable live performance from Rihanna simply because she has money to spend on Balenciage shoes, she should take that money and invest in a vocal coach. Even Beyonce has one as great as her voice is. I don’t respect anyone that can’t thrive outside of a vocal booth. The cd is very good though I must say, a lot of emotion & heartfelt writing on it.

I love RhiRhi to pieces, but she does need to work on her live performances. I downloaded “Rated R” from iTunes and I must say that I liked each song on it (although “Wait Your Turn” had to grow on me)! Give it a listen, IPS. You might like it.

Rihanna aka The Chanting Chanteuse. The Grace Jones of our generation. Island Girl over exposed for the exotic looks. Can’t sing but can model. LOL
