I will give Akon credit for putting out different music than what you’d expect. With reports of him trying to “redefine” his label’s name and image (Konvict), he’s taking that to heart with putting albums out by the likes of Colby O’Donis, Lady GaGa, and now Tami Chynn. This chick is like, seriously a mix of things.
Tami Chynn (born June 14, 1983)[1] was born in Kingston, Jamaica. Her father, Richard Chin, is of Chinese descent with Cherokee ancestry and her mother, Christine Chin is of half Afro-Jamaican and half-British ancestry.[2] (Source)
All that being said, I still don’t believe her, she needs more people.
WHAT HAPPENED TO KAT DELUNA? LOL, though Kat never really blew up like THAT, she was doing what this chick is doing way better and with the same producer, Red One.
This video is too much though, I’m not really feeling her. Akon really has been a big fail though as a label head for the most part…maybe if he put out that Rock City album he’d hit a good streak? I pretty much lol’ed at all the Rihanna-ish and just ffwded to the end, past his rap even. He really is just here to “give her some cred” though, at least outside of Jamaica and whatnot.

She is actually a really talented writer and singer who is well know in Jamaica and has been around for a long time. Her songs are normally reggae dancehall style. Akon looked like he switched up her style a bit musically and clothing wise. Check out her other stuff on you tube, you’ll like it or google her. She’s good.

she’s been out for a while though, but mainly in Jamaica. I remember her having a song with sean paul on his last album. as far as her being Akon’s rihanna, this chick actually has pipes compared to Ri-Ri’s yodeling. But I don’t like the fact that she’s been so watered down to fit into the american scene.

Tami Chynn has made a great name 4 herself in jamaica and in other parts of the world. and finally shes taking on the U.S. I am so proud of her, and i luv the video. I was disappointed with this video. This song has been playing in Jamaica since Spring and the video is just coming out now? I’m sorry but it looks cheap. Beyonce only had one background and a light and she did better than this. Tami Chynn is an ok singer, I think she and Rihanna are on the same level honestly. But Tami Chynn’s sister, Tessanne Chin, now she can SING!Look up her song “Hideaway” and you’ll see she got the singing talent. Someone needs to sign her for real!

I think Tami is a sweet girl and is really talented, but I don’t like the direction Akon is taking with her. She’s been around for a couple of years actually – she used to sing (maybe still does) backing vocals for Sean Paul. The first single from her last album was all about dancehall; this time around she is definitely jumping on the pop bandwagon. Not really feeling it but I still wish her well.

Alot of tami’s old fans are not really feelin the direction that tami is heading…but u guys need 2 understand that tami wants 2 be a pop singer now! She said it heself!!
