    • Video Killed The Radio Star: Kat DeLuna Bombs The National Anthem

Written by The IPS in Videos on Sep 16, 08

Po’ thang. Kat DeLuna tried to get her Whitney Houston and Leona Lewis on and instead ended up sounding like Christina Aguilera & Keyshia Cole after a tonsillectomy. Someone please pass her an Ambien so she can tone down all them vocal backflips and that faux-diva hand of hers!

WOW. I don’t know what’s funnier — her “dramatic pauses (so she can remember the words) or them calling her a “pop superstar” LOL!! I mean, I think Kat had a catchy song or two, but most people don’t know or give a flip about a Kat DeLuna.

The people in Dallas started booing at the end! ROFL, check out Kat’s faces while she was singing, I think those were to distract us from the fact that her “raw emotion” was causing all her notes to be flat and she changed pitches like, 3 times. Especially at that falsetto note at about 1:55 into the video — OUCH. FAIL!!!!!!!!

      4. September 16, 2008 Maybelle86

Why she growling? And what happened when she said free? lol, Boooooooo!!! Why don’t they hold auditions for singing the national anthem since a lot of ppl think it’s one of the harder songs to sing? I blame the commissioners of the world for these catastrophes! But yall know Keyshia Cole singing Amazing Grace, or w/e song it was, was worse than this!

      5. September 16, 2008 Marc

Bloody hell…she put waaaaaaaaaaaaayy too much sauce on that.

      6. September 16, 2008 divaTy

        LMAO boy o boy…

i felt bad for her though, not really…

she shoulda known better, she should’ve just played it safe and sang a more traditional anthem, the attempt at “soul” backfired lol…

        my damn.

      9. September 16, 2008 The IPS

If that was soul then call me Sean Kingston!

      10. September 16, 2008 collegegirl

that shit was terrible and unnecessary.

        That is all.

      11. September 16, 2008 wilcutyazz

BWAHAHAHAHA @ the comments! UH-OH did she just pull a Carl Lewis?

      12. September 16, 2008 Nickey

That was extra intense. I wasn’t ready for all that. The body spasms and Mariah/Jazz hands were more than I can stand. I vote no.

      13. September 16, 2008 bril

what about the mariachis putting their hands over their hearts? lol

        My god, the HORROR!
That save me the trouble of torturing my cat, coz not I know what it’ll sound like!
I mean, Talk about epic fail! And just look at Miss Woman, she looked like she just KNEW she was doing something up there! That’s so cute.
I’m proud of the fans who were nice enough not to wince on camera.

P.S. When I read the title of this thread, I said: “Who!?”

      16. September 17, 2008 Noodle

Och, that was painful! Painful to listen to, painful to see and I guess painful to be Kat whatever at that moment.
What’s worse than being booed by thousands of people doing what you probably do best?! LOL

      17. September 17, 2008 woohoo

      21. September 17, 2008 Whateva

Awwww … po thang. Bless her. I know she knows that she mucked that up nice and proper.

      22. September 18, 2008 J.P.

Ain’t this the chick that did Wind it up…..oh wait that was Gwen Stefani, a pop star, but i digress.

Anywho this ish was brought to you by the letter F for fail. Her expressions on her face had me dying cuz she looked as if she was getting an award for this performance. Boo bitch! She better start investing her money now due to that career ender performance, I can see her standing in the unemployment line next to ODB’s kids very soon.
