YOU WANT IT I GOT IT
Brandy – “Right Here (Departed)”
Definitely matches Darkchild’s new-ish sound, but however, doesn’t hit as hard initially as I would have liked on first impact. To be the official first single, I don’t know how this will go over with the non-Brandy stans like me. VOCALLY, she sounds great. I’ve been aching for the Darkchild glory days for a while, but maybe they were gone for a reason? Who knows. However, the day we’ve waited for is BACK! BRANDY IS HERE! It took me a couple of listens, but you like it, I love it. What ya’ll think?

I Love it! I didn’t at first but it’s definitely a grower…like many of her other songs. Brandy just has that appeal…when you hear her body of work, as in her full album, then you begin to appreciate each song. NSN was the same…apart from the boy is mine, none of her singles were that successful…but the album was through the roof!

NSN had big hits other than tbim..top of the world #1 r&b..have u ever #1 Billboard charts(nationwide) Angel in Disguise, big radio single..and almost doesnt count is a classic..just saying..LOVE THE NEW SONG!!!!!!!!!!

@Charlie,
I understand Love’s point. Have you Ever did well, but AID and TOTW didn’t chart THAT well when you consider the overall success of NSN. I think that album sold about 5 mill, yet those songs barely made the top 10. Even Almost Doesn’t Count didn’t chart that well. It’s almost like rather than buy her singles people actually went out and bought her albums.
I’m really feeling Departed. It puts me in the mind of something Leona Lewis or Natasha Bedingfield would do. Brandy loves taking risks…you gotta respect that. Most artists would have played it safe and put out an urban song.
