After making probably one of my most favorite songs EVAR (“Bitch I’m Broke”) and appearing on various projects, including The Roots’ song “Seed 2.0″ (classic!), Cody seemed to disappear. However, he’s back and here he is channeling Afro-beat with sounds reminiscent of Fela Kuti for his tribute to Obama, “AfrObama”. Not only is Obama a glimmer of hope here in America, but he’s also popular around the WORLD.
I love African music and studied some of it in college, and this song is just so great. Cody brings his typical low-fi funk with guitars and some killer chorus vox’s and just makes me remember why I love music in the first place.
Bringing something different to the table…what do we think?

I don’t beg from no rich man
And I don’t scream and kick when his shit don’t fall in my hands, man
Cuz I know how to steal
Seed 2.0 is my song! I always listened to it when I was pregnant with my little one. Lyrics are crazy though ;)
The whole world loves Obama, every American should vote for him! We in the Netherlands are hoping he will win, and turn everything around again.

LOVE IT!! Can we get this on the radio? I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m sick of hearing “lollipop” every 1/2 hour.
And The Seed 2.0 is still my jam. The guitar playing is fiyah!
