Not that anyone really watched any more, but the Soul Train Awards are no more:
It’s the end of the line for the Soul Train Music Awards, which have largely been ignored by the African-American stars the event aims to honor.
A spokeswoman said the show would not go ahead with its 22nd annual installment this year, but a reason was not specified.
At last year’s event in Pasadena, most of the winners did not show up, including such A-listers as Beyonce Knowles, Mary J. Blige, John Legend and Gnarls Barkley. (Source)
Well, another one bites the dust. Honestly, there were too many awards shows ANYWAY and NO ONE showed up for that joint last year. It was pretty ridiculous. I mean, wasn’t it hosted by 3 different people, Omarion and Letoya being two of them if I remember correctly?
After Ashanti got the Aretha Franklin Award, I was DONE AND OVER IT. Casket toss that award show in the L.A. River please, thanks!
Well gosh, where are Cassie and Cheri Dennis gonna perform at now?!
Santa Monica Promenade ALWAYS has room!

Didn’t the Soul Train awards come on at like 4 o’clock in the morning. I mean, who really watched it besides the people that were there when they taped it. I haven’t even seen a new episode of “Soul Train” in like a year and a half. Some stuff ain’t meant to last forever.

Since I never watched this awards program, it’s no skin off of my nose. One less award show clogging up airtime.

All good things must come to an end. Besides, the show was never live. That wasn’t any fun either. All the good stuff happens live. When it’s taped and edited, then it’s boring.

Man, I cant believe they’re cancelling the Soul Train Awards, but Soul Train kinda fell off altogether. I think Shemar Moore should come back as host.
