OK, now, I know some of ya’ll might not even KNOW who Chris Cornell is, but regardless, he is one of my favorite vocalists in ANY genre, hands down.
So I immediately laid prostrate in fear of my ears upon reading this gem tucked at the bottom of an article about David Cook’s blatant rip-off of Chris Cornell’s “Billie Jean” cover.
In other news, Cornell is working on his next solo album with superstar producer Timbaland, but declined to reveal further details other than to say, “it’s going fantastic.”
WHAT?!
No.
I’m not sure if I like the look of this. Especially after that new Madonna song, “4 Minutes”.
Madonna and Timbaland, Nelly Furtado and Timbaland, Justin and Timbaland…sure. OK. It makes sense. Pop perfection! But Chris Cornell is a rock vocalist, and a dang good one AT THAT. One of the best. Audioslave’s 1st album stays in my rotation. So the fact that Timbaland is threatening to digitize his voice is scaring me more than the idea of Unsweetened Halitosis Devil coming for my soul.
Just thought I’d pass that along for ya’ll who have a more diverse taste in music. Check out Chris Cornell’s cover below:

I luvs me some Chris Cornell—Spoonman, Fell on Black Days, Like a Stone…I don’t know about Tim, though. I pray its better than that OneRepublic crap. Maybe I’m just old but I couldn’t understand the appeal.

I think Timberland needs to stick working with people who have questionable talent and leave the ones that actually have talent alone…can’t mess with something that’s already perfect. I’ve been loving Chris Cornell since forever and I think it’s a dumb move on his part to jump on the timberland band wagon.

Okay, I have to believe that Tim can’t miss this up. No, it doesn’t seem right, but Chris’ voice is amazing. He can pull it off.

There are so many closed musical souls out there. Chris C. has a voice hand picked just for him by the Gods. Timbaland’s talant speaks for it self, look at his resume. I feel sorry for people who are stuck to only being open to one type of music or another. I can’t wait to hear their work.
