    • Album Covers: Keri Hilson x Keyshia Cole

Written by The IPS in Blogs on Nov 18, 08

      Keri Hilson single cover

Keri Hilson is quickly fading from memory as a viable recording artist and this cover is not helping either. What are they going to do with her and WHEN!? Po’ thangs album has been pushed back like Tyra Banks’ glue line 50 times, singles doing lackluster, and just generally, she is being mishandled. It’s not to say that Keri can’t do it, but I am starting to think she shouldn’t. It’s clear that it’s not working. This cover just lends creditability to that train of thought. It’s all faux-edgy and the “Dirty South” necklace just makes it even worse. From classy to cheesy — not a good look! I wish her well though, that song…I don’t like it either really. Just…nothing DIFFERENT. She looks like a left-over member of Xscape. Meh.

      Keyshia Cole album cover

Keylolo Cole’s new album is about to drop, but with that terribly mediocre, 90’s channeling single she has out, she might want to play her cards right and hit the studio to make a new one. Other than that, I am loving the black hair. Keyshia is sexy when she shows some class. But…I’m saying, did they make her Coleman’s smaller? Cause in her videos this past year, the girls were out. Bring them back out! No photoshopping of the funbags Interscope! *pouts*

I just want to know if Frankie drops any bars on any of the album tracks!? She’s bound to be better than that Amina girl Keyshia was trying to push before.

a leftover member of xscape lol poor keri im rooting for her but im losing interest with all these pushbacks

      2. November 18, 2008 Whateva

I don’t like either one of’em. I wouldn’t have said Kerri looked like a leftover member of Xscape ’cause they looked like Jodeci in drag … But she does look like she is trying too hard. I wish Keshia would have just went for a classier look. To me, animal print ALWAYS look cheap and trashy … this pic is doing nothing to relieve her of that stank appeal … loves that show, though and she looks much better on that.

That IS animal print. I was so busy looking at the magically shrunken chesticles that I didn’t even notice that.

Eww, that just screams Oakland Fashion Bug ROFL

      4. November 19, 2008 Ken-K

I know, why are they de-emphasizing the chesticles!!

      5. November 19, 2008 KBELOV

i cant believe you said ‘KEYLOLO COLE’…

      6. November 19, 2008 kelis

I hate how she spelled the name for her new single.. “Playa Cardz Right” that is so utterly ghetto and… ughhh. I am tired of artists spelling phonetically. It’s just not cute.

      7. November 19, 2008 kelis

oh yeah, what i was meaning to say was that i like her new album cover.. despite the animal print. i think animal prints are supposed to be back “in” now… because i’ve been seeing that ish EVERYWHERE…
