So me and my roommate have been debating this all night after divaTy sent me this song today. I think Beyonce’ is purely motivated by the money of reaching the ever-expanding Latin market (who are poised to overtake African-Americans as the largest minority group in America very soon). She thinks Beyonce’ is catering to her Latin fans and that they appreciate it.
What do you think?
I think Sasha Fierce put the Robo-glove up to Beyonce’s expensive and expansive lacefront collection and threatened to rip them to shreds if she didn’t go out and make mama that money. Mathew was in the back pulling the strings too! OK, maybe my imagination is running wild, but hey. What do you think? Vote in the poll above!
On the real, I think it started with “Beautiful Disaster” and she saw no one booed that really and it was all downhill from there.
Do I have any Spanish speaking readers? My Spanish ends at “hola” and “gracias” LOL.

I don’t know. It didn’t wow me, but it wasn’t necessarily bad. It’d be a better sell if Beyonce had some connection to hispanic culture, but I doubt it.

I really wish she’d master English first.

OH MY GOD … DEAD at Killing Myself Softly. I did watch her on Oprah and her speech has gotten much better.
Didn’t she say she wanted to be Latin?

Yep, there was a fiasco over her making that comment. Although I remember Destiny’s Child doing a performance with Alejandro Sanz a few years ago, and then she performed with another latin artist on another show somewhere I remember seeing on DailyMotion.
Having said that; I don’t really like it.
I like the album though. Some people might not like it because they’re going for broader appeal; it’s more contemporary and less urban than “B’Day” as a whole save for a few tracks. Overall though I think it’s well balanced and there def a few songs that are growing on me.

YES @ THAT BEING MY IMEEM LINK. Y’ALL BETTER PRAISE MY STAN POWER!
Anyway, I like it. It sounds like she actually got into it this time unlike “Irremplezable” (which sounded suspiciously computerized). I actually prefer this version to the original…
And I’m not entirely sure about her admiration of Latin culture, but I’m sure there’s some there.

I can’t even hate. Her spanish is decent, I guess. She’s getting her Spanish III on. A mi me dará lo mismo que cante en Español, Inglès, Italiano, Chino, etc. Ni puedo decir que lo odio completamente, la emoción con que canta le ganará algunos premios.
