Live Performances: John Legend Does “Greenlight” on Letterman

I’m glad he doesn’t try and do the rap part by himself. I hate when R&B singers try and do that LOL!

The more and more I hear this song though, I like it more and more. It’s the cut, though I still think it’s a little odd for John’s voice. And yes, I do still agree with whoever said he reminds them of the WB frog ROFL.

I love the band’s treatment though, and I loved the horns. I can’t wait for him to perform “It’s Over” live. Is John going to be on SNL anytime soon? I think that would be hot.

I still kind of hate his voice break when he switches into that falsetto note, but that is a random note to sing anyway, so I ain’t mad!

I don’t care. LOL. I just lolled all the way through at them trying to make Bobby Valentino look taller! If they hadn’t tried so hard, we wouldn’t have cared! And Lil’ Wayne’s body is so marked up, when he turns 60 all that ish will look like cancer and liver spots. Just…ick. “Mrs. Officer” is a decent joint though, catchy, but I could have done without the visuals. These fantasy po-lease officers in these videos are ruining my traffic violation experience!

OK, no one probably remembers this, but I LOVED this song. Nonchalant was the business, what happened to her!?

Think about it…10+ years later, this video can still be referred to. Violence and black men dying is still very much real in the USA.

Love this song…great message, hot music…they don’t make hip-hop like this anymore…

Do ya’ll remember this? It always reminded me of Lady of Rage’s “Afro Puffs” but I love that song too!

I was partying last night already, pardon the late start LOL!

I don’t celebrate Halloween though. I received a decree from Sweet Minty Jesus that it is not allowed, so I am celebratingÂ “Michael Jackson Is Banking” Day! How many times has “Thriller” been played this weekend? STOP! Think about it!

Anyway, “Indian Thriller” is old but it never gets old ROFL. It’s hilarious, it’s bad, it’s unscary…so that’s why I like it.

UMMM FIRST OFF — HE DIDN’T WASH HIS HANDS!!!!

I hate men that don’t wash their hands. Wash.yo.mutha.effin.hands! I don’t leave a bathroom without wiping myself down (head shoulders pants shoes) so that’s just not OK. I am gonna purchase “808′s & Heartbreaks” now just because Kanye washed his hands.

Umm but seriously, I’m just gonna have to veto this whole video. Akon playing congos? Kanye peeing? T-Pain talking to Kanye while he’s peeing? I’m surprised Ray J. didn’t make a cameo in the bathroom since we know how fascinated T-Pain is with his “meat” ROFL. *pause*

I get what he is saying, and quite honestly, he’s valid in pointing it out. So on that front, OK. But the minute he added DJ Khaled’s hollering a** was the minute he lost me. I mean, Khaled performs his own form of “karaoke” by calling himself a “DJ” and claiming to be a “producer” from what I hear too.

So overall, I just vote no on Measure T-Pain. Only he can prevent forest fires with that nappy beard of his. Ain’t that what “NB” stands for?

Video Review: Steph Jones – “Get Me Started”

My “frand” Steph Jones has a new video for his song “Get Me Started” where he is playing 7 separate characters,Â all which come together to make up him, who he titles “Mr. Ordinary”.

One thing is sure, that afro wig he got on?! I need that for my “Sweetness” costume from “Roll Bounce” ROFL!!

Steph, I see you tinkling on that Rhodes!

Anyway, what do ya’ll think of the video? I think it’s cool that he’s playing the 7 characters. The song is alright, but it definitely sounds like a Steph Jones song, AKA “Feel Good Music”. He definitely has his own sound.My only gripe is that I feel the video ended a little abruptly LOL. And she chose the “thuggish” Steph Jones, or was that “Mr. Ordinary”? LOL. I just wanna know unlike Mario Winans.

ROFL I didn’t realize how bad Maia Campbell’s “acting” was in this video. She sure was fine though. Ain’t she cracked out now or something!?

Anyway, I used to LOVE Tyrese’s first album! As much as he annoys me now for some reason, Tyrese can sing. I was bumping that TGT (Tyrese, Ginuwine & Tank) song “Girlfriend” for a hot minute — what happened to them!? Those 3 negros on a track was vocal 90′s gold!

“Sweet Lady” came out and I wore this joint out and put it on every slow jam tape I ever made ROFL.

“Always Coca-Cola!!!” — Don’t act like you don’t remember that commercial ROFL. Can you believe that this commercial was over 10 years ago!? Dang.

Movie News: Samuel Jackson Has Got The Glow! “Last Dragon” Remake…

If you aren’t an 80′s baby this probably means nothing to you, but they have announced that they are making a remake of “The Last Dragon”, the cult 80′s Motown flick featuring “Bruce Leroy” (Taimak) and Vanity as the love interest.

Guess who has been cast as Sho’ Nuff (the recentlly deceased Julius Carey, RIP)? SAMUEL JACKSON.

While I couldn’t think of a better person, what the eff WON’T Samuel Jackson do!? LOL. Seriously.

Me & ButtaBaby were discussing this today on Twitter, and she hopes Beyonce’ is not cast as Vanity and Chris Brown is not cast as Taimak. LOL, I think I’d agree. I mean, but if you think about it, why WOULDN’T they cast Beyahweh as Vanity? Vanity was the hot “chick” at the time on Motown, kind of, right? LOL.
